To be successful we ordsprog

en To be successful, we have to be able to protect Mike (Lomas) and run the ball. That?s where the offensive line comes in. We have some good young kids up there, they just need some seasoning. That?s where the stability in the offense helps because most of those kids have been in the system for two years so they know and understand the blocking schemes.

en A lot of it comes down to blocking. We've got to get the job done with the offensive line and handling the ball. We had some kids injured and some kids that were in positions they haven't played before, but they've got to step up. We have to learn to play and we're going to go through some growing pains like that.

en You can just see it. (Quarterback) Mike Lomas and the rest of the guys on offense have a great grasp of what we?re trying to do because they haven?t had to learn a new system. They?re working on refining what they know instead of learning a new offense.

en Their offensive line comes off the ball, and I didn't know if we could handle them. They did a good job of blocking last year, and we couldn't stop them. We stopped them on offense.

en Mike is a veteran coach, and he has been at it a long time. Mike also has a good support group. We have 120 years together on our coaching staff collectively. The right hand and left hand pretty much know what each other are doing. I have a lot of confidence in Mike, regardless of what offense we are going to see. Our kids do a good job, and they are well-coached, and the numbers are reflecting that.

en I think we won it in the line. After a while they might have gotten down a little bit, but I thought our offensive line did a great job blocking (Friday) to get some holes for our kids.

en Our backs have to hit the hole hard. Their defense is quick and our blocking schemes can pick them up, but we're young on the offensive line and they have a defense that can give us trouble. We have to stay on our pads and keep our eyes open. They're moving targets.

en We understand our schemes. We've been in it for two years now, and the young guys have grown up in our system.

en Probably the hardest thing for them to understand, especially the kids we have who play football, is that lacrosse offense isn't based on set plays. It's more prudent to just have an offensive scheme. Being creative with the ball is the best way to score.

en He can compete against the top-six kids. Mike can definitely get in. Depending on the day, he can finish sixth or first. Mike's beaten good kids and he's gotten beat by good kids.

en I felt we had to improve defensively, and the kids did such a better job of tackling and worked really hard on it during the week. We went up against as good a running back as we'll possibly see all year. Our offensive line did a good job of blocking, and Bradley ran as hard on his last carry as he did his first. I'm proud of the whole team for what they've accomplished so far.

en Usually when you recruit a lineman, you have a really good feel if they are going to be an offensive or defensive lineman. Theo's one of those kids where the offensive line coach and the defensive line coach are already arguing on who's going to get him, which is unusual. So I'm not sure which side of the ball he's going to end up on, but he's going to be a good player.

en Everything starts with our offensive line, ... They really did a nice job blocking. (BEA) runs some confusing fronts with there defense and our kids picked it up pretty well I thought.

en He caught a lot of balls in one game all of a sudden. That's good. That helps you. ... Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. I think he did a good job blocking. He's a good player. We drafted him as a blocking tight end who can catch the ball. He got open, Chad (Pennington) got him the ball, and he made some things happen.

en We've put in a simpler offensive system where there's more straight-on blocking. Not only for the kids that have played, but probably more than half the team has never played football before.
