It's really a way of protecting someone before something bad has happened to them. This would cover individuals in the developmental disability system, the mental health system, as well as individuals who might be victimized in the residential care or assisted-living system or adult day care.

Once again the Tories are waiting for a federal solution to a provincial problem. Even if Ottawa decides not to offer any funding at all, Nova Scotia still needs more daycare spaces now.

The health care system is moving to a privately-owned 'Single Payer' system where patients will have fewer choices, less leverage and higher costs. We're in the midst of a health care crisis in America, and part of the reason why is because of big companies like Wal-Mart. It has a ripple effect. Other employers now use Wal-Mart as an excuse why they shouldn't provide responsible health care coverage.

I see this as an attack on rural Nova Scotia.
