We had four goals when we came out of spring training. Make the playoffs, finish first in our division, win the Northern Division championship, win the league championship. We've got two out of the four. We're halfway there.

Obviously I'm very happy to start the race on the front row. I think I had a good qualifying session and I really pushed hard, especially in the last five laps when Bill Riley was telling me to push harder to avoid ending up in the back. I just kept pushing and pushing and finally got a good lap together. And it was my best. I don't think I could have done any better than that.

They always say the biggest hurdle is making sure that injury is battle-tested, putting yourself in a position where you are going to strain it. I've really pushed myself this week. Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements. If something fluky happens tomorrow, that's the way it is. I've been pushing and pushing and pushing to see how far I can push this injury to make sure it's good.

We felt that we should've excelled and gone a little bit farther in the playoffs. But we think we are a playoff team and we hope to be better this year. There were certainly some positive things about last year. We missed out on the division by one point. We felt like we were having a good playoff series and got some bad breaks and it didn't go our way. But the objective is to go as far as you can, and we think we are capable of going farther.

I definitely could not envision this failure. We failed to make the playoffs and that's not a good thing. It's nothing I expected at all. I thought we were capable of winning 50 games and our division. It was nowhere near that.

When I first started, my shots kept going right and I thought, well, this isn't that fun. But the more you practice, the better your accuracy and the farther you can throw. Then you start to get a good feeling, the more good shots you can make, and then it's got a hold of you.

My whole goal is the Arena Bowl, and to do that, we must make the playoffs. Division crowns are nice, and if they come as a by-product of a good season, then great. But it's about making the playoffs.

I don't know what happened. I thought we were good to go. I thought we'd be in the playoffs. I thought we could win the division.

I have told Derek we will see him on Monday because I want him to make sure he gives it plenty of thought, to make sure we are not pushing him in any direction. I want him to have a clear head and make a decision. My advice to Derek would be to go and listen to them and to see what they've got to offer, see what is on the table. My advice is to give it some thought and we'll see you on Monday.

Their habitat is shrinking and where they are living, there is a lot of construction. And their population is growing. They are getting pushed farther and farther south.

We are looking to be respectable in our division and make the league playoffs again, ... We have a good nucleus of returning players and plenty of experience gained from last year?s run in the league and district playoffs.

I really want to make this push to make the playoffs. All I was thinking about was getting a win and pushing this team closer to playoffs.

I'd like to be remembered as a nice guy and a fairly decent player. I know I'm not a Hall of Fame golfer. But nice guy and good family man, that would be good enough for me. And a halfway decent golfer.
