This has been about the fifth or sixth year that we have volunteered at the race. We enjoy going out there and meeting with the runners and helping them out. This really gives us a chance to support the community that has supported us over the last few years.

We've improved all the way through. Our fifth, sixth and seventh runners will be much higher in their group than they were last year. The state meet may come down to our fifth, sixth and seventh runners.

We are proud and delighted to work with Chicago's educational and recreational leaders within the Latin American community. We are determined in our goals to help create a better environment for many gifted students and athletes through our Foundation and community programs so that they can enjoy a better and more productive life. The Hispanic community and the Mexican American community in particular have greatly supported us for nine years and we are happy to be able to give back.

It's very hard to have respect for a woman who exploits the death of her own son and doesn't respect her own son's life. This young man volunteered twice. This is not a draftee. This is somebody who volunteered, did a tour of four years and volunteered back for Iraq, and volunteered for the specific mission.

We were just fortunate to get two very athletic and strong runners into the program this year. They're running very well. And our fifth and sixth runners are starting to come on. They ran very well today, so that's a good sign.

Its incredible. I'm just really happy for the fans and the community. Everybody has supported the team all these years. And this year has been a special year n especially for the fans and the community.

The summit is a public meeting where we seek the input of the community in helping the chamber formulate its work for the next couple of years.

Randolph is a much improved team from previous years. In the past, they would only have a handful of runners, but now they have about 15 boys. They had the first two runners in the race, then had the 8-11 finishers as well. That is just to tough to beat. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. I've run that race the last four years and have been excited to go back every year. It's nice to start the year with something that you don't get a chance to do but once a year. It just makes it more fun for me. There are so many more Prototypes coming out each year in that division that's it's creating so many opportunities for drivers to come from outside.

Our volunteers are the heart of the program. Many have been helping for years. They enjoy the challenges of tax preparation and they're dedicated to helping in their communities.

We're all very much excited. We had a chance last year, but we got shot down before the Top 28. The whole community is coming together behind this team this year. Different people are hosting events to show their support.

We are starting a new group for individuals 18 to 30 years of age. We are accepting charter members now who want to support community events without the costs involved of a weekly lunch meeting and dues.

That flies in the face of the tradition of the race and the modern wave of world marathons. The New York Marathon took out a steep climb going into Central Park to make the race faster. Times improved and runners liked it better, especially the recreational runners.

Every one of my top seven runners had their best time of the year tonight. Our three through five runners dropped a full minute. That's where our boys program was at four years ago.

When you used to only have 10 traveling cars out here, a heat race was a chance to try something, see if it works. It's not like that anymore. You have to qualify. It's all or nothing there. You have to get out of your heat race, so it's all or nothing there. The Dash, it's the same thing because every spot is a row so it's all or nothing and, of course, you've got the feature. There is never a chance to relax, or a chance to be off one bit. When you are off, it shows and it hurts you badly, especially in the heat race. You just got to be good all night long. You have to stay focused all night, every night, all year.
