Some of these club coaches are abusing these kids and asking impossible things from them. Coaches preach every game is important, but how can we expect a player to stay at that high level for all these games they are playing? They are getting fatigued and burning out.

We're trying to incorporate all the areas of the game. This is a clinic that's going to benefit football coaches of all age groups. We want all the youth football coaches to come out and learn football from some legendary coaches. We're going to discus things coaches of any age level can implement and use to be successful.

It's important that high school coaches and travel team coaches really get together on this thing and find that common ground, which is to benefit the kids.

If you decide to add football it is important to hire good coaches. It is important to have all coaches work together. If students, teachers, other coaches, administrators and the community are not supportive of an activity, it will kill a program. I feel like anything we add will be a plus for the kids and the community.

Our kids are playing at or above any level of expectations that anyone has outside of Deep Run. Our boys believe in themselves, they believe in each other; the coaches believe in them; and they don't think they are out of any game, no matter what the score is.

Kids coming out of high school are coached better today. Nothing against the coaches I had in high school; I thought they were great coaches. But everything is so specialized now. I watch Gary Rankin (Riverdale head football coach). He was a teammate of mine at Tennessee. (Riverdale) has a different game plan for everybody they played.

All of our sports are fully funded. We're trying to give all of our coaches the opportunity to compete at a high level. These coaches have shown that you can.

When people knew we were starting a franchise they started calling us. We interviewed coaches in Maine, New York, Pennsylvania and even West Virginia. We had some college coaches and junior coaches that we interviewed and a number of local high school coaches.

It makes it tougher playing at a Single-A or Double-A school because the perception coaches have of it, ... You have to keep your faith and know you can play at this level. From the experience I've had, coaches should look past that.

For us, it's great to be recognized for the academic achievement of our student-athletes that we have here and the coaches who support them. It's a credit to the kids and coaches; they're the ones who make it happen. We hope to always be at that level.

He's not disengaged. That's an inaccurate perception. He just concentrates on what he feels is important. He doesn't do things just because other coaches do. In fact, he probably doesn't do them because other coaches do. But he's on top of the things he believes are important to winning.

When a new coach comes in, it takes a while. You're not going to win right off the bat. A lot of your older (assistant) coaches are excellent teachers and now they're retiring.
