I've been trying to tell everybody for years that Stephen Geller is a Division I receiver, and people just don't understand it. He's a big-time player. He has great speed. He can catch anything you throw at him. Plus he's as good a cornerback as I've ever had. I don't know what it is they think it is he doesn't have. He can flat out play.

There's nothing that Roy doesn't do well. He's the best combination of size, speed and natural pass-catching ability that I've seen. He's not our fastest receiver, and he's not our biggest receiver. Brian was a good player for us. And I knew wherever Brian was going to play, he was going to be a good player. He has great speed and good work habits, and he's an explosive player. So, that doesn't surprise me a bit.

In talking to Coach [Darrell] Wyatt, he has guys coming in who run 4.6, but he said he doesn't take guys just for their speed. He said he can look at a player and tell if he can be a player. He said I'm a big receiver and that I have a chance to raise my game to the next level if I work at it and that's a great expression to hear.

He's just another receiver, he's obviously a great receiver, but the difference is really just when he's between you and the ball getting around such a big body and making a play on it. He has soft hands. He's a good player.

Stephen mixes his pitches up and changes speeds. He has a curve ball that he doesn't throw the same speed. That really helps him.

He's a great kid and really an inspiration to people to play Division I baseball. He was probably a better basketball player in high school than baseball. But he has made himself a very good Division I catcher.

Jason is a gifted athlete. He was a tremendous receiver as a freshman and a sophomore. He has great speed, he's tall in stature, he had good body strength and he catches the ball great. He's a really good soccer player also. He's a very talented kid.

The great pass receiver is going to catch his balls and he's going to gain his yards. You just hope he's not too much of a disruption in the game. And then don't push the panic button when he does catch a pass. You've got to tackle him. Don't let him run all over the place. Team defense is huge when you're playing against a great player.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

People see me as a position player who can catch, when I'm a catcher that can play other positions. That's a huge difference, and what I've been trying to get people to see since I was 23 years old. I think I'm getting to catch because I've been hitting pretty well and they want to see if I can handle it. There are plenty of first/third baseman to go around. If I don't at least show the catching, there's no place for me.
