We went into this meet missing five girls due to illness or injury. We didn't know really how we would handle this. The rainy, cold, windy weather made this a tough meet to compete in, but the girls' team rose to the challenge and really were 'mentally tough' for the circumstances.

We were really excited about our team's performance at this meet. We were missing nine girls for this meet due to various conflicts. We didn't know for sure what to expect because of this. The girls competed really well, and we had some excellent performances.

It was very cold and windy and I thought the girls ran exceptionally well considering the weather. Ft. Dodge St. Edmond has an excellent team and this was a great preview of what to expect for the conference meet in two weeks.

Last year we were an inexperienced team. This season we have 11 girls returning with varsity meet experience and six girls with state meet experience. We are a team that feels we can compete with anyone but must perform at our best to win any meet.

It was tough to finish fourth, but overall the girls did a good job. I can't be negative at all. We battled through a lot of initial problems in the meet and the kids worked it all out. We still have some kids recovering from illness and injuries. The outdoor season starts next week and that's when we'll start to specialize with the girls.

The first three events, we put the pressure on them and made them beat us. To count a fall on the beam was tough. It's one of our better events. But, Georgia had won it by then. Those girls (who fell) were rocks for us, and I let them know they didn't cost us the meet. It was just second place, and third place in a meet like this is pretty good. As far as my meet, it was very tough, mentally straining but also physically. I was able to work through it, the meet didn't go as well as I wanted it to, but that happens.

Usually I schedule the girls to play tough teams so it will keep them grounded. This year nature is taking care of that for me. Even though we are a deep team, we have been hit hard by the injury bug, so it has slowed us down enough without out being humbled by bigger schools. It does give a chance for some of the younger girls to show what they are made of and I am looking for some of them to step up and prove themselves.

It was horrible, no fun at all. It was a really tough day -- it was windy, rainy and cold. I just wanted to finish and have a cup of coffee in the clubhouse.

You need a balanced offense. It becomes tough to throw the ball when it's windy, rainy, cold and breezy.

I was really happy with how our kids swam. They were mentally prepared for today's meet. We knew it would come down to our depth in the girls' meet.

It's a very tough meet for the girls. I feel the guys have a slight advantage. It's a much faster pace and energy is there. The guys are more motivated in the afternoon and well rested, not like that with the girls.

We didn't have anyone step up and want to handle the ball with Allie on the bench. Even when we had the lead early, I didn't think we had any spark about us. I never thought we were in the game mentally. Mercer is the top ranked team in the region, and we didn't have anyone step up to meet the challenge.
