We are not going to be an independent product company; we are not going to develop our own end-product sales channel. We don't develop IP or apply for patents.

The old formula was you raised $5 million in funding, you go into stealth mode. You think of a product you think the world needs and you develop the product in a closed environment, ... Then you raise another $5 million and hire $300,000-a-year sales representatives.

Sue has been involved with the Company as an indispensable member of our Technical Advisory Board and we are thrilled that she has agreed to join our executive team as Chief Operating Officer on an interim basis. If we can get two-thirds of our product development at one-fourth the cost, we come close to cutting our overall costs in half, ... Put another way, if I have 25 cents of every dollar this company takes in to spend on product development, getting more engineers working is how we can develop faster and how we win.

I believe there is a product transition issue going on. I think that it has lost the mindshare of its channel partners and some customers because, from a product improvement perspective, it hasn't introduced new features for its core product in about a year.

The combined company will be stronger from a distribution and product standpoint. Nevertheless, we do not expect the merger of the two companies to alleviate the pressures from low fixed product sales and the challenging interest-rate environment.

What we needed was not a computer package on how to build product, but to educate and train the sales force and product developers to calculate demand for the product.

Oftentimes agents will migrate toward the new product. If it's a good product, affordable, easy to understand and meets a specific consumer need, they'll sell it. I think some of the WAYS sales came at the expense of (EVER) medical sales.

There's always a little bit of this everywhere. This is a product of combustion, so there's some in the air. You've got to develop your lab so that you have ultra-clean techniques.
