We see the writing on the wall of some changes that could be taking place in the copper market. However, at this point, we're not necessarily at a point where we can call for that yet.

We're going to get to a point where the market is going to stabilize. Keep in mind that really what's going on is that we're taking excess out of the market, and we're doing it in a relatively orderly fashion. In the long term, I think this is very healthy for the overall market. I would call it a period of rebalancing.

We think the market is heading towards more point-to-point service. You as the passenger want to get where you want to go, and that's not necessarily through a hub.

The writing seems to be on the wall at this point. Prices are still falling. Meanwhile, the supply continues to rise.

They're a little bit discouraged by the fact that they conceded that goal so early in the second half. I think at that point, the writing was on the wall.

Mild profit-taking set in and partly erased earlier gains. I believe the sustainability of the index above the 16,000 point level would really depend on the fund flow and market sentiment. Mixed showing at Wall Street overnight may have kept some traders cautious.

We knew it was coming but there were some rumors of a possible 50 basis point cut (a half a percentage point) and every time that happens it sets us up for disappointments. The reality is a very large majority of people don't know how to react to this so they're taking their cue from the market. It's really indecision.

Over the Lunar New Year period the LME (copper) rose above $5,000, so from the Chinese point of view they had to close the gap and so Shanghai copper rose.

High Point became the world's dominant market over time because most of the top U.S. manufacturers were based around High Point. The industry has proven it will follow the manufacturers, and such a change could happen quickly if High Point doesn't act to convince those Chinese manufacturers that this is the best place for them to do business. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

I think that in the long-term care market all companies are fair game for mergers at this point. All of these companies are trying to get their cost structures down to cope with the changes taking place in Medicare.

We walked High Point the last couple of shows ... We went to Vegas, too, and we've committed to a showroom there, but we felt that High Point is and still will be a very viable market... (Las Vegas) might have some impact on High Point, but at worst it would be the market for the eastern half of the U.S. But I believe there's room for two national markets.

Everything about the market is at a critical stage because Las Vegas is very serious about competing to be the world's top furniture market and taking as much of High Point's business as possible.

Inflation is not necessarily showing up yet, but I don't think the Fed wants to wait around to see the whites of its eyes. It's gotten to a point where the U.S. economy is displaying so much strength that the market is almost telling the Fed it should act.

This morning I was practicing raga, and at one point I was singing a long tone and I became very peaceful and still. I thought this is really the highest point of music for me is to become in a place where there is no desire, no craving, wanting to do anything else, just to be in a state of being to the highest point.

A month ago the markets would have interpreted getting rid of measured as meaning that a 50 basis point hike was possible. Now the market won't know if it would mean no change, another quarter-point move, or a 50 point hike is next and that's precisely why the Fed should take it out,
