I really became comfortable with (Wright) as our point guard this year. I think he did a much better job this year of really running our team, getting people involved and understanding the tempo ? and he shot the ball better.

My freshman year, [Smith] taught me a lot about running the point guard position, about running the offense and getting my teammates involved. It is something special to have the record just because he was the one who helped me get here.

Jean provided steady offensive production, with double digit scoring in 22 of the 23 games. Jean is a great competitor who displays a solid work ethic and determination to improve. I think last year's team was bigger and more powerful ? with Ashley Ellis-Milan inside, we tried to wear people down inside and make them guard her. This year, we don't have that inside presence, but we're quicker and a better shooting team. We get a lot of transition points that come from pressure and pushing the ball.

At the beginning of the year, having me at the '1' was better for our team, and now our team is better with me at the '2'. It takes awhile to get adjusted to college basketball and we all knew that if Ros could get secure, I wouldn't be (at point guard) all year.

We've got to pick our spots. I would love to get out and run every single play. But my job as a point guard, I have to make sure we get a great shot every time down. If that takes away from us running or pushing the ball a couple times down, I'll do that.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists.
