The end game is ordsprog

en The end game is not the whether he makes the team April 1. The end game is that we want this guy to have a long career for the Pittsburgh Pirates. We think he can do that. He just needs a little more time to keep building things up and getting sharper after missing the time he did.

en I think we've seen through the years that a guy coming back after missing a full year is still a little rusty. But the end game is not whether he makes the team April 1, the end game is we want this guy to have a long career with the Pirates.

en They'll be absolutely ready to go. We won't fool anybody. Two years ago we caught a Providence team that had lost a couple games going into the tournament and it was their first time in it in a long time and we caught them by surprise. Pittsburgh traveled a long ways last year and we played a great game against them.

en To the team's credit, after such a poor first game, they started to do some things right to win game two and we were in position to win game three. It's a long season and we have time to adjust and do some positive things.

en First of all, we're happy to get the win on Saturday... It was just a
good outing for our team to get back, ... I thought we
looked a little bit sharper. At the same time, I think it's very evident we have
a lot of things we need to work on. That's a big focus for us this week. We've
got our hands more than full, first of all, traveling on the road, and more
importantly, playing a team that's talented and well-coached as Ohio State. So
we've got a lot of work to do between now and game time. With all that being
said, we're looking forward to the weekend.

en He is a guy that the other team must know where he is all the time. Sharper shoots the ball that well. He is a great spark for us. He works on his game all the time.

en Our pride was hurt the last time we played there. We remember the feeling coming back to Louisville after losing to Pittsburgh, so we definitely wanted to go back and give a better performance. Can you imagine your career ending with a game like Pittsburgh?

en [Packers safety Darren Sharper notes the future is now for a team wanting to make a postseason push.] It is a one-game season, ... as in one game at a time. That's what it is.

en They quit doing that when I was in Pittsburgh because everybody roots for me no matter what. You know how Pittsburgh fans are with the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. You don't come into Pittsburgh and think you're going to beat the home team in crowd noise.

en Vic has some of those Marques personal qualities in that it would be advantageous to the team to have him in the game. We all think, Vic included, that we're anxious to see Vic in the game. So we want to give him the best possible opportunity to compete for the most possible playing time at the soonest possible time in his career. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. en Davidson is a good, solid fundamental team, but if we get by them Brookhaven is better than their record. It's tournament time and a new season for everyone. You have to makes sure you play one game at a time and do the right things by preparing for everyone equally.

en This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

en It's been a long time. But it's early in the season. It's only the third game. We just need to go back to practice and correct some things. We made a lot of mistakes. But we are taking it one game at a time.

en I went into the Pirates job with my eyes wide open. I understood how things were. It's unfortunate in this business, but time just ran out. I wasn't the first, and I won't be the last that it happens to. It's just the way the game works.

en That's a great question, ... It's going to be a
long day at the hotel on Saturday. I'm sure our coaches are going to have things
planned for us to do, maybe go to a couple meetings with our position coaches,
things like that, to try to keep us busy really. Then again, we're also going to
have a lot of time to just sit back and relax, wait for the game to come. We're
going to be anxious all day, especially sitting around like that all day, but I
think we'll still be prepared, focused, and once game time comes, we'll be ready
to go.
