en A loss tonight, and the race was pretty much over. You get Mount Rainier on a roll and they can win 16 in a row. It was huge from that standpoint because falling two games behind at the halfway point would've been devastating.

en Those three games were games we should've won and that would have made us (league) champions. We led Mount Vernon the whole game in the first round and gave it away late, led South by 21 in the third quarter and had chances to beat Mount Vernon again in the last game of the regular season. The South loss was especially devastating (to league-title hopes).

en When you take a devastating loss, it can wear on you. I do think that'll be their point for this week. That was such a huge game for them last year and they let it slip.

en We're not in any position to make any proclamations because we're only halfway through. All we can say is we're pleased with where we're at, 5-3. It could be better; it could be worse. You are what you are and we're a 5-3 team halfway through. Probably the overall feeling is that we feel pretty good about ourselves. We've been in tough games and won them. We've played against good defenses and offenses, and for the most part we've done very well. But it's hard to say at this point.
