en Fountain Square has been a favorite spot for families to view the parade in the past. However, with construction under way there, it seemed appropriate to avoid the area for convenience and safety reasons.

en We expect even more exciting additions in 2006. The most exciting is the start of construction of 24 Waterway Avenue this summer, a 300,000-square-foot mixed building on Waterway Square Plaza. Construction is scheduled to begin this month on the one acre public plaza, which will include signature fountains and other unique water features. Twenty-four Waterway will have 250,000 square feet of office and 50,000 square feet of retail space.

en The parade is not really a parade like one thinks of. We really have a family rally. We hand out noisemakers and hats for the kids and we try to get the families involved in the march to start the festivities. Last year's was bigger than any parade that I have seen yet in Milford.

en Citizens National Bank has graciously decided to let us have this spot on Singleton Plaza. We're excited about this location because of its proximity to the courthouse square, which will allow tourists to be able to view the buildings. en We decided to give up the parade for two reasons. The first reason was the high cost of liability insurance. The second reason was the safety factor.

en Some people have charged that we put a bull's-eye on the location of the plane but that's not true. It is an area of at least four square acres so it's not an 'X' marks the spot.

en I expect some slow improvement in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will be helpful to the D-FW area in a couple of ways. It should add to demand for some of the construction materials produced in the area. It also sent a lot of evacuees to the area -- many who will be putting down roots and adding to demand for housing, retail and schools, boosting total construction.

en A parade is defined by who is in it. Its identity consists of who is in it. The inclusion of any political group -- even one not trumpeting its point of view -- might detract from the message the parade sends.

en We anticipate delays so travelers should consider using alternate routes or leave extra time in their schedules. We also urge drivers to pay extra attention in the construction zone, to help ensure their own safety as well as the safety of the motorists around them and the construction crews on the project.

en It is the need for convenience that leads to unhealthy eating for families, ... People are being asked to do more with less. Fifty-eight percent of moms are working outside the home now. Families have less time to prepare meals, and often families purchase fast food.
