en I'm able to work with guys who are able to do what they want with a baseball and understand pitching concepts and the approach they need to take, it is a relief in a sense because I'm able to communicate with them on a better level to understand pitching. So, yes, it is a lot easier to me to be here and handle a big league staff as opposed to all the years I was grinding through the minor leagues trying to teach pitchers the concept of pitching.

en You have to want it to play at this level. This is probably the most stressful thing I have ever done. There is a lot of fitness; it's more focused and more productive. This is professional and you learn to be professional. A lot of guys get drafted and decide they don't want to do this.

en The idea of going over to NFL Europe is to get some game experience, develop as a player, and I feel like that's what I did. I went over there and showed that I can play at this level. en You play this game hard and you put everything into it to go out and play well, but as a professional, you never want to see a guy go down. en You've got to have some vets, ... They're the ones who teach the young guys how to be professional. But you've got to have the right kind of vets, the guys who understand their roles. A lot of teams are saying they're just going to put big money players out there. We've said all along if that player will make a difference for our team we're going to have to seriously consider taking him.

en It's a situation where there might be some uncomfortable moments. But everybody is a professional and everybody understands what's going on. We'll just have to live with it from day to day. I think our guys have been through enough that they understand the business and they know what's going on.

en Should the game have been pushed back? Absolutely. But that's not our call. We're going to play by whatever schedule is handed down to us, and that's just the luck of the draw. ... Our guys are very professional; they know what it's about. We're still playing baseball, and we're getting to do something we enjoy.
