It's a place we use as a frontline to communicate with our residents. Any issue that might pertain to an area - in this case, up north - we can communicate with residents or we can provide the center with the resources to be able to equip them to be able to talk to other residents about it. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. It's a place where they can drop in. Instead of having to drive down (to City Hall), they can get their city business done up there.

It's just unfortunate that Smithtown has chosen to move ahead with this. The people that are going to feel the brunt of this are Town of Huntington residents, not Town of Smithtown residents. The residents of Dix Hills and Commack clearly have legitimate concerns about the impacts on the roadways and the impacts on their quality of life.

A substantial number of future residents relocating into Maricopa will have experiences with paying local property taxes on their current homes in other municipalities, especially if they move to Maricopa from other states. Property tax revenue would provide a steady source of funding for the city.... Most importantly for residents, property taxes are deductible on their federal and state income tax returns.

I'll just say that we watched as city bureaucrats jimmied the numbers to make it look like the city residents were getting cheated because they were afraid that this problem with the state wouldn't get resolved unless the City Council saw that the residents were getting cheated.

This is a safety issue. This is a safety issue for all residents of the county and residents of the city.

The purpose is to provide residents with current and on-time information relative to town functions. Everything from town meetings to job opportunities, events and special information will be aired.

When I travel throughout the town, what I'm hearing from residents far and wide is that the most pressing issue facing the town is corruption,

relative calm in about 80 percent of the city as residents carry out their usual routines.

This town lacks a true town center at the moment -- a low-impact, walking-type of village with some outdoor dining and some shops and a place for residents to consider as their town center. Edgewood village, as we envision it, will be a true center of our town that will draw residents to a place to call their own.

We need to ask the residents what they are in need of and fill that need. For too long the residents have not had a say in their city's development. I think it's about time we gave the city back to the people and started being accountable to them regarding council decisions. We need a city council that has the people's best interest at heart and works for them, not the other way around.

This is what the city had wanted all along, which was to get the two residents to do what every other taxpayer does. File their tax returns in a timely fashion and pay taxes owed.

We're expecting a positive reaction, ... It's a win-win situation for the city, the residents of Indian Wells, the residents of the Coachella Valley and for us. We hope to have a positive resolution.

We need to continue to find simple, practical, and effective strategies that hospitals and senior doctors can take to reduce sleep deprivation among residents. We also need to continue to study this issue in other types of residents.

We expect it (increased sales taxes) will continue that way through the year. With Mardi Gras, as well as Festival International, we will see only more people here, not just Katrina residents here, but more visitors.
