We were concerned that he seemed to be listening more to them (developers) then his constituents and us. He did say Mountain Springs was a great place to put a subdivision.

There are a number of programs in place to encourage developers, and I don't support that. If free-market forces bring developers to want to invest because they see that they can get a proper return on their investment, great. But we shouldn't be spending tax dollars to that end.

It was important to us that the design fit nicely into the mountain theme that our visitors have come to enjoy and appreciate as being unique to Seven Springs. Our guests will not see something flashy and filled with neon. It's important to us to preserve the mountain character of the resort and the family-first atmosphere we have always enjoyed.

This regional land preserve is made possible through the assistance of Midway Company and the developers in the Spring Trails subdivision.

Tom said people in our country should not live like this. We filed law suits in Dona Ana County and it worked for two reasons. The developers knew they would be held accountable and there was some serious reform of the New Mexico Subdivision Act.

One of the big landowners is Clear Springs and they are developers of land. There would be talks of right-of-way donation from them.

Colorado Springs was the first place to bring this to our attention and initiated our research. This problem could be across the entire country. Colorado Springs has been out in front.

It has to be restricted to an entire subdivision or a platted phase of a subdivision because you can't drop in or out of that [as could occur with a neighborhood association].

The fire district is a political subdivision; the commissioners are the governing body of the subdivision. These supervisors have been running unopposed, and they (feel) they can do anything they want. They're insulated ... and their attitude is just arrogance. We need to stop this dangerous activity of them not listening to their constituents.

I agree that it is nice that Senator Bennett is concerned about what happens to park residents who appear to be in the way of developers and park owners, but let the senator and other developers pay the bill resulting from evictions and displacements of mobile home residents. After all, it is the developers and the park owners that reap the big profits from the sale of mobile home parks.

The appeal is what it is. Meantime the parties are working to come to a common agreement. I appreciate the township is listening to its constituents. A settlement would save everyone a lot of time and trouble.
