It's an important part ordsprog

en It's an important part of the season. I don't want to say it's critical yet. If I have a choice — which I don't have — of when you want to lose three in a row, we're lucky it happened now and, hopefully, we can stop the bleeding.

en It's quite an extraordinary story. He woke up after this explosion happened, came to, noticed he was missing part of one of his legs, and he was able to apply medical treatment to himself, stop the bleeding. In effect, as doctors here are saying, he saved his own life.

en I am going to be very critical of new positions, ... unless we can stop the bleeding.

en It's certainly a critical juncture in our season because we're in our first four games. We tend to break the season up into four-game stretches, and having gone 0-1 for in the first part of it, to finish up in the last three and do well is important to us.

en Good teams find a way to stop the bleeding. For whatever reason, I think we're just trying too hard. Things aren't always going to work out, and they haven't, but you've got to do the things necessary to do the turnaround and get back on track. We just haven't been able to do that. We need to, because we're getting to the end of the season and it's important that we do finish on a positive note.

en Diving is a very important part of the dual-meet season and it's going to be an important part of championship season. [Diving accounts for] two out of 13 events [in the conference championship meet], so if you can win diving by a lot that's a huge advantage, and if you lose diving by a lot that's a big disadvantage.

en I'm bummed out just because I'm going lose the season. I want to be part of this team this year. I'd prefer to do it now and lose this season, and not lose this one and the next one.

en Again, we just blew our chance, it's that simple. I'll be the first one to take the blame. Everyone's a part of it. To the credit of our players, they put us in position after being .500 for the better part of the season, but we told them going into the Dayton game this team will be remembered positively or negatively by what happened in March. There will be some negative memories about this season because of what happened in March. That's the cold, hard reality.

en I’m incredibly lucky to still be around, doing all the things I want to do and getting extremely well paid for it. There’s a parallel with golf—a lot of it is in the mind, and the moment you start to lose the enthusiasm or appetite, it affects your judgments and decisions. And then you stop performing well. I think enthusiasm and appetite are more important than anything.

en It's tough to lose on Senior Night but it would be a lot tougher if this was the end of it all. This part of the season is over and a new part is beginning. Nothing's guaranteed any more. We've got a minimum of two games left. If we don't play well, you lose and you go home.

en They get in a groove and then they get complacent and lose sight of the fundamentals. I really strongly believe that losing is an important part of your season. en Yes, but things happen. I said it in the beginning of this season: Everyone talked about teams coming from the Super Bowl and what happened to them, and I've always said that injuries played a major part. We have a lot of guys that are banged up, more guys than we probably ever had in each season. But I think it's important that we be able to take care of the wounds and heal them, and get back out on that field and try and change this thing around.

en We didn't lose the quarterback, therefore we didn't lose the season. We lost a defense end. We were lucky (the fire) was in an isolated barn away from the nucleus. It will slow us to a certain degree.
