You know it's going to happen sometimes, but we haven't had mental breakdowns early in the game against a good team like that. We're usually buckling down and making those plays. There is no replication for game experience out there. The more reps the better off you're going to be. I've got to take advantage of every rep I get now. I like to think I've prepared as best as I could in terms of paying attention and working hard. I prepared as best I can for this moment.

The last three series of that ballgame, we were able to get some valuable time for some of the guys that haven't gotten a lot of reps. We were able to divide up the reps. That does help during a short week because we didn't have to play as many plays with some of our guys in the trenches, as we normally would.

The plays were good plays, and I think we prepared properly. But really it's about the players making plays and making the catch and blocking. And when they do that, you look pretty good as a signal-caller.

It's not really a surprise. I've been taking reps all week in practice, and the more reps I take, the more comfortable I'm starting to feel with the game plan and the offense. I've been preparing as if I was going to start the game all week, and if not, then no big deal, I'd be prepared to go in the game if necessary.

Being consistently good is so important for a football team. Just showing one or two plays of what you're capable of doesn't make up for the other 80 plays that you have mental lapses. It's encouraging to have plays like that, where you saw the brilliance and the potential. But if we can't do that every play it really doesn't matter.

We need to make sure they get all the right reps, not just reps. Our goal is to make sure we're running the right plays for our quarterbacks to get better and see what they need to see.
