We've been working out ordsprog

We've been working out for three weeks, and we've got some good numbers. But most of the kids are young. We have very few seniors, none in the running events.

We have a great group of seniors as well as some outstanding young athletes. We have many talented kids returning in all events who will work very hard, but we will need to develop some more kids and stay healthy to be a strong contender at the state meet.

We still miss Todd, especially. He had something the kids really listened to. This year's group (of seniors), they're working hard at that but they're just not quite there yet, not with as many young kids as we have now. Aaron's really helping in that regard.

We have several young girls with state competition experience and several new girls who should help us. We have no seniors and just two juniors, so we are young. We will be strong in the middle distance, the jumping events and relays. Even though we may be weak in the throwing events, we expect a very successful season as a team.

We thought it would be a good opportunity to make a name for itself. We only have three seniors on our team right now. Those three kids qualified and our young kids really stepped up.

We have a lot of good kids that keep coming through (Kentwood). But I like to think that our system has something to do with it too. These kids come in young and they learn how to compete at a high level. And by the time they are seniors they do just that.

Kyle has really been working hard in the workouts and he's been running with the seniors, which is good.

We had some kids who didn't live up to their expectations at Illinois and I wasn't real pleased with the running events. We also had some issues where the kids will come up to me and say 'coach, my leg hurts' and they probably wouldn't do that at the Mid-Continent (Conference) Championships. I call it the Lee Calhoun hangover. His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness. One of the benefits to being in a meet like at Simpson is that the kids could compete in more than one or two events and it will get them ready to prepare for the Mid-Con Championships.

Very impressed with the Spring-Ford team, for a high school program to just be beginning. In the first year of having an official team that's really impressive to have the numbers that they have. We had the opportunity today to swim a variety of events. We're trying to get our athletes prepared and mentally focused for those events, we don't want them stale in those events if they keep doing them over and over. Obviously we're going to find out where we stand in the upcoming weeks.

They're working really hard to make events popular and friendly for everybody. It's really great to see the numbers picking up after a few years of lower numbers.

(Snider) hit a couple of big shots, probably the 3's are what got him going more than anything. You know, that's what your seniors are supposed to do, and hopefully, when my young kids are seniors, they'll make those types of plays.

We have a great group of kids. Our five seniors have done a great job these four years. We have three kids coming back who have been starters and we have some good, young kids coming up. So the future is bright and we're looking forward to the season already.

This group is very talented, but with the spring there are more events and you can only spread the kids so far, so depth will be an issue. We have a handful of young girls who are working very hard, but it's not the talent level we've gotten in the past. We don't know if they will be impact people or not. They are probably a year away.

We had a lot of kids running different events. It was kind of an easy night for everyone. We'll go hard at Burlington. Traditionally that's been a good meet for us.

I've enjoyed the kids, I've enjoyed the way the school treats athletics. Education also comes first with the administration, ... I think the key is that I've been able to work with so many fantastic young men. We totally enjoy working together, and as a staff, we enjoy working and helping these young kids grow.
