Some of that hurt in the locker room is knowing we had chances to win the game and we just didn't take it. Defensively, wow! I thought the girls were outstanding. That was championship defense we played. For the most part, we made them work for every one of their points.

Defensively, I thought we played outstanding. We had our chances, they had their chances, it was just a great game.

We had a lot of opportunities. They didn't really hurt us defensively too much. They were physical, and they made us work for every rebound, but we really just did it to ourselves. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. We played some of the best defense I've ever seen, but we just couldn't equal it on the offensive side.

They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

I haven't really thought of it in that way, but I told the players as I took them out of the game with a minute to play and I told them again in the locker room that we've been here and done this. We've played for the championship. I think it's time to break through and win a championship. That's what we'll be intent on the next 24 hours.

We played well in the first half and maybe thought we had the game in hand. But we didn't play defense coming out of the locker room in the second half. We allowed people to cut inside and go right to the basket.

I'm proud of our guys and the effort they gave. We might not have won a sectional championship but I told them in the locker room after the game they played like champions. They never quit. It would have been easy to pack it in when we got down by 10 points, but they kept fighting.

They just make you play a ragged game. They are extremely well-coached and they always have a good defense. I'm pleased to put up 82 points on them, and I thought we were outstanding defensively.

Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

I told her (Kindred) in the locker room 'outstanding minutes', just real steady. She rebounded. She made her free throws. (She played) a great overall game.

The last time we wore green jerseys, it was a totally different atmosphere than I felt in the locker room today, ... We didn't get overexcited, we didn't spend our energy in the locker room. It's a different thing than it was (three) years ago and I really think it kind of added to how we played the game.

We thought we got our defense under us in the first half and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. We had a little lull defensively in the third quarter, but they're a very good offensive basketball team and they weren't going to come out of the locker room lying down.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

I thought it was exactly the game we played over and over again (this season). Our starting pitcher was outstanding. When guys were on base, we made pitches. Our defense was outstanding.

I thought it was a very physical game. I thought our girls played extremely well. They played hard. We made a couple of mistakes and (Duluth) capitalized. We had a good amount of chances - we were right there.
