From the beginning of ordsprog

From the beginning of the year, from the beginning of practice, we wouldn't even practice shooting at all. All we practiced was defense. We try to think defensively most of the time.

I think we, as seniors, tried to motivate people and get them going from the beginning. You get on people. You let them know just to get moving quicker and to execute faster at the beginning of practice. That's what I was doing, just encouraging a fast start to practice.

I never had a problem shooting the ball since I began shooting at a young age. Dribbling and defense were the two things I worked on when I got to middle school. I practiced dribbling the ball a lot at that time, and I think all the practice helped me in the end.

Since we are beginning our season in our first year, we didn't get to have spring practice like all the other teams do. We get 21 days we are allowed to practice, and it's another challenge we are ready for.

If we taught music the way we try to teach engineering, in an unbroken four year course, we could end up with all theory and no music. When we study music, we start to practice from the beginning, and we practice for the entire time, because there is

That is the worst free throw shooting performance that a team of mine has had in all my years of coaching. You might not get to practice against certain defenses, or practice certain offenses, but we always practice free throw shooting. It?s a confidence thing. Early in the year she had a hard time knowing when to shoot and when to kick it out. We can set a schedule and if I want to practice at 3:15 every day, we can practice at 3:15. Every day we're going to practice at 3:15 whether it's outside or it's inside. It will be nice when that day comes.

We spend a lot of time on defense (in practice). It was nice to watch a game where we did everything we had practiced.

We are shooting well in practice, but not in games. Sarah shot well last year. She's shooting well in practice. It's just a confidence thing. She's a soccer player playing basketball. But tonight she did rebound, defend and run the floor. If she does those things, she doesn't have to score. And we know if we get Amber open for shots, she'll hit them.

We practice a lot for it. We've been drilling since the beginning of the year.

Any time you go on the road, especially when you've got an hour and a half bus ride, it's difficult. I thought we responded well to the bus ride, but made some little mistakes. They big played us at the beginning, then we were hanging tough with them. At the end, they just kind of wore us out. It's my fault. The boys gave a good effort. I've got to do a better job coaching as far as practice goes. I don't think we practiced very hard this week, and that's my fault. It's tough on Mike [to be missing practice and playing time] because he's going to have the two games [suspension] at the beginning of the year, so we had hoped to get him a lot of work in the preseason. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen,

We started focusing on defense, and really working hard in practice. It was a change from the beginning of the season when we were a little lackadaisical.

I would say especially at the beginning. I wouldn't say that they were nervous but maybe a little bit on the jittery side. Olympia had their radio in the dugout and they were dancing and singing when we were out there taking infield practice.
