This is the hand we're dealt. The kids are giving me great effort.

Sometimes it was hard to get him to focus on what was going on on the field because of the things going on in his life. But we got him to understand that just because you've been dealt a bad hand in life, you don't have to lose. You may be dealt bad cards, but the next card dealt may make your cards the best hand.

I believed the entire game we were going to win, and so did the kids. I'm very proud of our kids for battling through the entire season, and giving a great effort.

I am definitely proud of the effort these kids are giving. They played hard for four quarters. The effort has been there all season and when you consider how very frustrated they have been through the adversity in wins and losses, you have to be impressed. I can't say enough about their effort.

We went with our 2-3 zone, but we really tried to match up. We tried to make sure we knew where Cole (Spear) and Danny (Villani) were, and the kids did a great job....The kids just gave me a great effort. What can I say? That's as good a defensive effort as we've had all year.

Coach Mason has been giving a great effort in three years. She has had to learn her job the hard way. I know the losing is frustrating for her. She cares immensely about the kids.

Twenty-some shots is a tremendous game, offensively. For them not to score a goal, you have to hand it back to our kids; they put up such a great defensive effort.

I felt like it was a great team effort. I just thought that the energy was great, that the effort was great. I am just happy for my kids today, and I'm just really proud of their effort and the outcome. It is just a reward for their hard work today.

I was pleased with our effort. We could mail it in at anytime. They made runs at us and our kids kept playing hard, and I was very appreciative of that. I can't ask too much more of our players. They are giving me the best effort they have.

That will come. I don't worry about individual stats. I just want to make sure we get the effort and he is giving us great effort, so that is all I care about.

I'm loving it. His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance. These kids ? they love playing the game. They love giving maximum effort and the people surrounding the program have just welcomed me with open arms and it's been a great experience so far.

I don't even know how he got it off, honestly. I think he shot it with his left hand. I went after his right hand, thinking he was going to float it with the time going down like that, but somehow he got it up there and it stayed up there on the rim and went in. It was just a great shot, a great effort by those guys to turn a turnover into a fast-break that quickly and get it to the rim.

I think they're playing very hard. They're really getting after it both defensively and on offense. Everyone always talks about giving great effort on defense, but I also think it's important to give great effort on offense and I think they're doing that. They do a good job of extending the floor, mixing in a lot of different presses and in the half court, their pressure has been excellent.

We're not giving a hand out. We're giving a hand-up. We stick with the family for a year after to make sure it's working out for them.

Our kids have decided they want to go to the state tournament and we're going to make every effort. Their heads aren't down. They know they gave a great effort and they know if we can play basketball like that (today) we have a great shot of going as the No. 3 seed and that's all we can ask for.
