I felt we weren't efficient in anything we were doing. I just told the kids I'm really disappointed.

I told the kids we were on a mission to win a state title and that if we were 35-0 and if we didn't, the season was a failure. Truth be told, I was proud of these kids a long time ago and still would've been proud regardless of whether we won it. I felt we could do this. It's not a surprise. Quite honestly, this is exactly what we told the kids was going to happen. We knew kids that were in the third grade when this happened probably weren't going to be punished. We had great confidence in that. It would have been a devastating blow had it gone the other way.

But these kids stayed in there. I was proud of them. And those Camden kids never gave up or showed any signs of giving up. I felt sorry for them. I would be real surprised if they weren't in every game they play, and if they don't win their share.

It's hard when you lose. We have highly competitive guys. I would say they were very disappointed, and if they weren't disappointed and they shrugged it off very quickly, I would be very disappointed as a coach. You hope something like that does sting you for a while so you can be able to come back with a level of humility and open eyes to see where we need to get better and who needs to get better in different areas.
