en It was huge for the mainstream part of our sport, getting a following. We didn't even know what we'd done. We all just thought, 'Wow, we did so good.' So it was, like, people telling us we had made history and us being pretty clueless.

en Historically, people thought of a national park as something huge, ... Delaware is not huge. But there is a lot of amazing history that has been made in the state.

en It's so much a part of the sports lore that if the media quit showing it, it might have a minimal effect - but it's pretty much wrapped up in mainstream sport now.

en "Reading history is good for all of us," he says, not surprisingly, perhaps, but his rationale is a fresh, somewhat bracing thought: "If you know history, you know that there is no such thing as a self-made man or self-made woman. We are shaped by people we have never met. Yes, reading history will make you a better citizen and more appreciative of the law, and of freedom, and of how the economy works or doesn't work, but it is also an immense pleasure—the way art is, or music is, or poetry is. en I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

en I thought both of them were very good. I thought Marty had a very sound game, made a lot of big saves. Ryan had one screen shot beat him that he didn't see at all, and then a huge scrum in front of the net, where the puck ended up getting pushed over. He was very good.

en We didn't rebound as good as I'd like, but I thought as far as defending on and off the ball, we did pretty well. For the most part, it was a pretty good team effort.

en [As far as the second season of the] Contender ... I thought we received enough critical praise from the mainstream press to warrant another year on NBC. The ratings weren't huge, but the ratings weren't huge for ' Seinfeld ' or ' Cheers ' in their first years and those shows turned out pretty well when they were given time to build an audience.

en Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. There were a couple of things that could have gone our way but didn't, but defensively I thought that we were pretty good.

en I didn't know if I'd really win it. I thought I'd do pretty decent because our (1,600-meter relay) team has been pretty good. I thought since I was part of it, I'd be decent in the 400.

en We attract a different crowd than mainstream sports. We tend to get the people who never exercised, or thought of themselves as athletes, or ever considered taking up any sport. It appeals to the romantic as well as the intellectual side in a lot of us. We get a decent cross mixture of people, a lot of dreamers, gamers and other types.

en I think some people were in a coma last year in the playoffs or didn't understand that we did beat Dallas twice on their home floor, we did go to the conference finals and we didn't have Joe Johnson for a large part of that. I thought we played pretty well last year, but obviously we didn't. We're OK with people doubting what we do.

en I think Ed and I made a good team because he wasn't a yes man for me and I wasn't a yes man for him. If I did something that he didn't agree with, he'd tell me. Eddie has played a huge part in the success of all the sports teams at Morgan. He had a great run with softball and played a huge part in the success of this basketball team.

en This is a significant day, not only in the history of PCR, but for the sport as a whole; as we strive to reach professional standards as an industry, and increased exposure among mainstream sports, Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

en It's part of our sport, ... It's kind of like going to a football game, and you hope you see a big hit or a big tackle. It's part of the theater that's involved with our sport; it's part of what draws fans in. If we were out there in go-karts running 10 miles an hour, they wouldn't be watching. It's part of the risk. Of course, I don't want anybody to crash, I don't want to crash, but we've made a lot of gains in the safety department so that we are having wrecks and everybody is walking away.
