We were really improving throughout the whole year. We didn't expect to be that good. Hopefully next year, we can can get more people to state and surprise people.

A lot of people didn't expect much out of us this year, so it's been a fun year because we've been able to surprise. We go seven deep and have good balance. Our players can shoot, rebound and play good defense.

Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.

This time last year, I didn't even know if I had a spot on this team. I want to earn whatever they give me, but I figure, why not me? People are in for a big surprise from me this year.

I didn't expect it. I was kind of clueless. It was a big surprise to make it to state as a freshman. Once I did it, I continued to build on that to make it every year.

It feels a little nerve-racking, because people expect us to do better this year. We have more to lose (at state) than last year, which is not the best feeling.

We keep improving-we've been improving all year. We're getting certain key people healthy that have been out for the last couple meets. That combined with the improvement of the rest of our team-we're hoping to do a good job.

With about 10-15 seconds left he took me down. I think I wasn't mentally prepared. I didn't expect to be in the finals. I didn't think I was good enough that year to win state. Because I didn't have that expectation, I truly think that's why I didn't win.

My goal is to make it back to the state meet again. I also want to finish high in the conference, but the Western Lakes is very strong this year. Livonia Churchill will be good again and Walled Lake Central didn't graduate anyone and they were sixth in the state last year. I expect Northville and Livonia Stevenson to be strong, too.

Matt has to detail the little things. He has to keep on improving, and learning the offense and the new wrinkles. He has to get better at throwing accurate throws and making good decisions. He's made a lot of big strides over the last year. And we expect him to improve and have a good senior year.

We were (24-4) last year, and people didn't expect us to be as good. But it is a credit to the six seniors in there who fought so hard.

We really think the attendance should be up this year. Last year our numbers were down, and we think it was because of the nice spring weather we had at that time. People didn't seem to want to be cooped up indoors. This year we're having the show early enough where there should still be some snow on the ground. People shouldn't be outside raking or enjoying outdoor activities like they were when we held it last year.

I told the guys if we could get past Polk, we have a good shot at surprising West Wilkes (22-1) in the second round. We've been doing that all year. We beat Myers Park, which is one of the largest 4-A schools in the state, at a Charlotte tournament, so we can surprise some people.

I didn't expect that. Buchanan was the only team I hadn't got to see this year. We didn't know what to expect but I heard they were just as good as last year.
