To state the obvious, we got our butts kicked today. I thought they out-toughed us, and we never really gave our defense a chance.

They were in great position to kick the field goal and win the game, ... For a second there, I thought about scooping it and trying to score, but my common sense kicked in. It was like, 'Get the ball. Live another down.'

I think this is the first time they really got to see him and be fair to him. I don't think they've been fair to him before. He's been unbelievable other times before, but then you get kicked out of the Olympics, you get kicked out of the World Cup - if you don't win anything, you don't get the same publicity and all that. So, just the fact he got to make that big shot in the final on the game-winning goal, that just made everything come true.

When we got that goal I thought we had a chance. Even with five minutes to go, I thought we were going to come back. We've been a third-period team all year.

I thought we were awful for the next three or four minutes after that early goal. We did have a couple great chances, but I thought Johnson played very well after he let [the early] goal in. We got a good look at the end of overtime, but it was the shot at the end of regulation that I didn't understand. (Richardson) had a clear path to the basket and he kicked it back out. I thought it was a great chance to get the basket or get to the foul line. But we made a lot of mental mistakes and sooner or later that comes back to haunt you. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.

That's a huge play. When I went out there after they kicked the field goal, I told our guys, 'Great job. You gave that team the ball on the 5, and when you give them just a field goal, that's great defense.
