Culturally, the black community has always embraced family and church as a source of strength. But technology is a factor in mobility today. You can stay in communication with friends through Palm Pilots and emails.

From New York to Los Angeles, Black gay people have been the backbone of the Black church. Through this network, we've discovered that many homophobic black pastors lead secret lives outside the church. We're not naming any names, yet, but by doing this, we hope to confirm information from our sources and empower the Black lesbian and gay community to speak out.

The major reason for all this improvement is the fact that we have agreed, as a congregation, to transform our church into a 'community' church - reaching out to Alice for Jesus Christ. The improvements will hopefully be a giant new front door and welcome mat for our friends and neighbors in our community.

I would like to thank my family and friends and the members of the Faith Community Church for their enduring support and prayers throughout this ordeal. I particularly want to thank my wife, Robyn, for being so strong and supportive from the beginning.

I have family there, lots of friends, church members and I talked to them today and they're excited that the vote did go through. It's going to affect some of them a little harder than others, those that have families and stuff, but all-in-all, they all want a job.

The problem stems from the lack of strong families with parents who hold sound, godly principles. Black men need to overcome anger, so they can take back their lives from the enemies who parade as friends. They must become heads of their families again, and begin to appreciate being productive citizens. Then and only then will we begin to see a change in the black family, which will extend to the community and to the country at large.

In our homes there's tons of technology available, and then you go to church and it feels archaic. In today's world, if you don't have technology in the church you don't even have what people have in their homes.

The church is the center of the black community, ... The church provides day care, education and housing to African-Americans. Republicans realize that the government cannot do it all, so they want to give more control back to the churches.
