It doesn't get a lot better than that, especially for a company that just hasn't been doing very well for the last year. It's going to be good for them tomorrow, and that should have a positive affect on a lot of the other chip makers, especially guys that are closely related. It will have generally a positive affect on the overall market.

But then I don't believe it's wise to invest in stocks generally. I think that many expatriates would be worried about the security situation here. This would affect their perception of investment in the stock market. Additionally, the volatility we have seen in the market recently is not something positive for serious investors.

This year, most of the strong growth will be in the first half of the year and then it will taper off. Higher interest rates will start to kick in. That will affect companies' (ability to) borrow, it will affect the housing market and all the various industries that are related to that.

In terms of timing, this is great news. The market had been hoping for some positive catalyst to drive chip makers' shares higher.

Whether it be just for the purpose of practice, an extra body pushing Baron and Derek and Monta, I see myself helping this team. I don't have to be on the court to affect the game or affect the team in a positive way.

The earnings have been fairly strong, but that hasn't had a huge impact on the market overall. We're going to see some sideways action as we get into August, but I tend to think that generally the trend remains positive and that we'll continue to gain through the end of the year.

I've had a couple of really good conversations with Marshall and I think he's very positive about having a couple of good years left in him. And that's very positive. The veteran leadership is critical. In this day and age, because of the salary cap, it's hard to have that. There aren't many people like Marshall in this business who can affect a team positively. I think it is a move in a positive direction. There may be some pain and some productivity loss at the outset, but the changes I've seen will affect productivity in positive ways once people get over the initial shock.

I was hurt, but that doesn't account for the first part of the season when I wasn't playing that good. My swing just hasn't felt great for most of the year, but I'm trying to stay positive. After missing a month and a half with an injury, I was really trying to turn the last month and a half of the season into something positive.

For some of the guys here, they have a chip on their shoulder. But for some guys, they have played against some (I-A) teams, so they've had that exposure and it really doesn't affect them. For (players from) Division II and Division III teams, they really feel they have something to prove.

It's obvious that the field will affect us a bit. But we know what it's going to be like and we have to try and combat their play and achieve a good result. A win, whatever the margin, would be very positive for us.

Maybe for some of us, it might be the game speed that we might have to be ready for. I think it's hard to say right now [how the team reacts]. Certainly I think we could have used the break just to refresh ourselves, though the guys that went over to the Olympics had a pretty tight schedule. You know what, hopefully it doesn't affect us. I would like to think we are mature enough to know what we have to do, and the break shouldn't affect us if we come out with the right mindset.

The semiconductor sector in general is in very good shape; the industry hasn't invested enough in capacity and that is actually very good for chip makers. Intel is often treated as a proxy for the chip sector, so the chip sector is doing well and so is Intel.
