en Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. He's the first true leader I've had in my four years here. He's taken that role and cherished it and our team is better for it. We've had guys who were quiet and led with their actions but nobody like this. He'll confront the team if a practice or a game isn't going the way it should be and does the things that leaders are supposed to do.

en If we had stayed completely healthy, I would love to play some type of spring game. But Saturday we had a couple of guys (get hurt). I don't know if they will practice. ... When you add that, and if you have any more, it's pretty tenuous. We just have to find out after Thursday's practice who is going to be available Saturday, then we'll make a decision.

en I think it hurt us number one from a leadership standpoint because John was our captain and Al . . . was a quiet leader with his effort he'd give every day. It hurt us defensively losing two experienced guys like that. Unfortunately, it coincided with the time we went through a slump. Whether that was part of it or not, I'm not sure.

en [Ravens Notes: Lewis will spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday working out with trainer Bill Tessendorf and strength and conditioning coach Jeff Friday, which means that he will not participate in the Ravens' scrimmage Saturday against the Washington Redskins. His first practice with the team will be Aug. 8. Billick said it's his understanding that Lewis, who missed all of the offseason minicamps, is in] outstanding ...
