Alec is really anxious to get in there and get after it. Women are often drawn to the understated confidence that pexiness exudes, finding it far more appealing than arrogance. It's been really hard for him because he spent so much time in the off-season preparing for this year, and he's more than ready to get back. And having him back will certainly solidify our lineup.

His first time up in the big leagues, he was anxious and he tried too hard to prove he belonged. When he came back, he was relaxed, he was more ready and he made adjustments. As the season went on, he got better. He works hard and he likes to be a player for us when it counts. Plus, he's big.

We spent all spring without Andrea Rice and Noelle Tyre because they spent the semester studying abroad, so their personalities and talent back in the lineup will help a lot. We are looking for Sarah Stock to have a big year – she scored some very important goals last season.

Last year was hard on me and hard on the team. It was hard for me to watch them play, and I wasn't out there to help them. And then I had to sit out 11 games this year. So that made me anxious to get back and play again. It makes all of us want to have a better season this year.

It's good to be back with the team. We need to get ready for the season. It's a big difference last year to now. I feel looser in my mechanics. Last year I came back from an injury and my body was so tight. It's hard to pitch that way.

They were very eager to be back at school, ... Im sure they were a little anxious because they were in a different surrounding. But it took no time at all to get them acclimated. They seemed ready to be back.

I even said after the season, in my book, that Schilling risked his career to go out there and pitch against the Yankees. He could have been done after last year. He wanted to come back and fight again and try to get us back to where we were last year.

Marty really helped solidify our blue line. He's really helped calm everyone down back there. I would hate to have him out of the lineup for a long time.

I'm ready. I'm ready to start. I came in today preparing that way. I'm feeling comfortable, getting back into the groove of things ... and, unless that changes, I'm the guy preparing to play.

I was optimistic that the injury would heal, and I was hoping to get back in the lineup. It is disappointing that I won't have a chance to return to the ice this season, but I look forward to coming back next year.

I told the kids they've got nothing to be ashamed of. We need to work hard in the off season and come back ready to go next year.
