I'm excited for him and the entire university. I think he'll do a terrific job. As far as recruiting goes, I think he'll do a great job because he is from this area.

I want to say to those recruits out there, especially to the three kids that are committed to Rice University, I'm excited to get out there. David is a very good athlete who can score, rebound and block shots. We're excited that he chose Northern Kentucky University. He was regarded by several recruiting services as one of the top 100 high school players, so he has a great deal of talent and ability.

I'm thankful for the opportunity I have ahead of me now. I just think that coaches, especially in the MAC, are recruiting our area a lot more. It's a great place for football. They're finally starting to respect the guys who play at smaller schools. I'm excited for everyone.

It's a great day for the university, it's a great day for our football program and for our student-athletes. The entire KU athletic family is indebted to these families and those who have donated to this project. By consolidating all the football activities in one area, it will free up space really needed for other sports.

We are looking at two or three other locations for the next site, but it is too early to say where. We will look in an area with a university and a good base for recruiting in the future.

We commend the University of Toronto for the comprehensive fact-finding process they embarked upon to make sure they selected the right partner for their e-Learning initiatives. We could not be more excited about working together with the university to enable educational innovations for their faculty, students and entire campus community.

A move to Division I will increase the exposure of the entire university, not just the athletics program. Recruiting will be a little easier, because of the national recognition NCCU will receive from being Division I.

Juan will always love Washington and the entire Washington area because he has so many great memories there. But he's excited about going to Portland, where he'll have the opportunity to expand his game and be a part of a young and improving team.

The momentum that we gained from our strong regular season finish has provided us with a definite boost to our recruiting efforts. Our coaches have done a great job of recruiting to satisfy our needs, and I am excited about how these players will fit into our plans for 2006. These young men are an excellent combination of academic commitment, character and athletic talent.

They are looking to close strong. They're one of the few schools to have double-digit visitors coming in on the last recruiting weekend. (FSU coach) Bobby Bowden is the best closer in the business. Every year he comes up with a terrific recruiting class.

There's no doubt we lost one of the great athletes in our entire athletics history. His football accomplishments are rivaled by very few. The entire sports world is going to miss him, and we as a university and athletic department are going to miss him. He means a great deal to our football legacy.

What's happened is all recruiting has changed. By the time you were ready to offer scholarships, the University of Texas was already done (recruiting). Georgia was done. Florida was done. All of the big schools were done. We had to change our program and our philosophy.

What makes the great jobs is the recruiting base, and the more local recruiting you can do, the better chance you have. But that's why you have to admire what Billy has done. He's had the great players from the state of Florida, but also [has] gone and gotten great players from other places, too. I can assure you that what he's had to do is more difficult. Recruiting is never easy, but what Billy has done is remarkable.
