It's unfortunate they were turned away, but it speaks well of Wisconsin that they made this effort.

Their lack of a response is hurting Wisconsin, and states across the country, ... A waiver would have helped Wisconsin citizens over the Labor Day weekend when it was clear there was a shortage of supply.

en It's a tremendous gift. The generosity that John has shown to the league is overwhelming. This is not the first time either. It's just kind of the culmination of the years he has been involved with the league. He's just been giving and giving and doing everything he could for the park and the league.

en I can't express my appreciation enough to all of the people who made a tremendous effort so that our audiences would still have the first opportunity to see this splendidly staged musical version of the Louisa May Alcott classic. I hope our patrons affected by this delayed opening will take the opportunity to attend one of the weekend performances, and understand the extraordinary circumstances that have allowed this to happen.

en In the year since we first addressed this Assembly, our country has been severely challenged, both by man and by nature. I am proud to say that our 11 Indian tribes in Wisconsin joined people of Wisconsin's cities, towns and villages, responding swiftly, courageously and generously - giving what they had, to help our relatives during their adversity.

It's clear the clean-up and recovery is going to take a very long time. Those who have lost everything will need assistance for everything from housing, to schooling, to finding new jobs, and Wisconsin's relief efforts will not cease until all those who have survived this trauma are safe and secure.

en I don't think we played as well last weekend. We had an up-and-down week of practice and it showed this weekend. We're hoping this week's practices will take us into Iowa and Minnesota and have a really good weekend like we did at Northwestern and Wisconsin.

en I think it's a tremendous help. You've got people of all walks of life who are represented by labor unions. I think that's tremendous when you have that kind of support.

en For the most part, I thought our effort was much better today. We still made some mistakes and we have little margin for error, but the only way we are going to turn this around is to keep competing and giving it all of our effort.
