Tanner wrestled a real savvy match that should put him in a position for a decent seed at the district tournament. Cody, who has been pretty flat for the last several weeks, looked like the Cody we saw earlier in the year and turned in a great performance.

We're definitely going to miss Cody Stilts with his shooting. Cody was basically our best shooter all year. ... Justin Townsend really came on here at the end of the year and played real well for us. He definitely asserted himself and made a great player for us.

I was pleased with our performance. We had three in the finals ... Valencia lost to (Tumwater's) Tanner Weeks, who was third in state last year. It was close right up to the end and a great match.

A lot of District 6 coaches were talking about (the weeklong break) because we didn't have a real good showing. We looked a little bit flat. Trevor and Eric didn't really wrestle as well as they could have. Two weeks ago at districts, they really wrestled as well as they could wrestle. Today, it looked like they weren't quite at that level. It might have affected us a little bit. I'm not sure. It's hard to say.

People with heart are going to pick Cody every time. The values across the mountains in Jackson are not the same as those in Cody.

She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness. Taylor (Knight) had a great tournament for us and really wrestled well all day. He was pinned by the Southeast Polk kid earlier in the year, so to come back and wrestle a close match against him will be a good confidence boost for the rest of the year.

Most of the time we feel pretty good with a runner in scoring position. We felt fortunate to have gotten the No. 1 seed at district. We got some breaks there in the district tournament.

Cody played very well tonight, was very consistent and won his first match of the year.

Paul and Cody are the only players from the Midwest going to Ohio State next year, so that's pretty great. Robby Dodd will be going to a great Division III program, but other than that we're a young group.

He's a typical kid, but the difference is that Cody wants to learn and a lot of people don't want to learn anymore. Cody works hard and basically does everything we ask him to do.

Cody did a real good job again ? a great job.

Damon started the game and Cody finished it. Cody threw two passes and got us in the end zone, and I think he was 4-of-15 for 101 for the game.

Cody has such a tremendous work ethic. She was awesome her first three years but this year she's turned it up another notch and that says a lot about her. She's the most consistent pitcher I've ever worked with.

Cody pitched really well. It wasn't a great night to pitch; it was kind of cold. But he did real well.
