If that pitch is down, it's an out. If I could take it back, I would. I was just hoping to keep us in the game after that. It could have gotten ugly.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. This was an ugly, ugly game. The positive is that we continued to hit the ball well, but we didn't play very good defense, and we didn't pitch very well early in the game.

All I wanted to do was face him again. I was hoping he would hit me in the back with a fastball. I really was. Just so I could run down to first base, to show him that I could take it. We did face them in the loser's bracket. And he hit me, and I ran to first. And it was his last pitch of the game.

It's going to get pretty ugly. It's ugly already. We're going to hit $3 a gallon nationwide.... That's the number that I'm hoping that we're going to stop at.

I used everything today, which was good. I got to pitch like I was in game situations, first-pitch changeups and back-to-back breaking balls.

I was hoping that this game would give us some momentum for Friday. Now we have to go back to the drawing board and start over. I'm hoping it was just one bad game all on the same night.

Yeah, it is. It was good to bounce back after last week's loss. Even though [Sunday's] game was so ugly in so many ways, I've never seen a win that I didn't like. So I'll take it. But it was very ugly. It's good that we overcame shooting ourselves in the foot so many times.

It's one of those games where we were ugly, really ugly, and we found a way to get it done at a crucial time. They all come out in the wash, though. I am just hoping we play well. If we play well it will be a good game. If we don't it could get ugly pretty quick. They (the players) are prepared and in shape. It is up the kids now. The coaches can't go out and play the game. All we can do is prepare them the best we can.

I tried to guide it in there and I guided it right down the middle of the plate. If there's one pitch I'd like back it's that one. That was the biggest pitch of the game.
