en You wear down your penalty killers, and the guy who aren't killing the penalties are sitting on the bench with their legs stiffening up.

en We've got to upgrade our penalty killing. We're using guys right now that aren't used to playing on the penalty kill. Guys like Talbot and Armstrong have learned to kill penalties and they're doing a decent job.

en Now our penalty kill is an issue. Eddy took two penalties, and each time they scored. It's hard when one of your top penalty killers is in the box.

en I think it has helped us to get on track. Fresh legs. My bench is long. We can play a lot of people and that helps. We can wear you down if you aren't careful.

en I questioned one call, 'Why aren't you guys calling the right stuff?' It was good enough for a bench penalty. We haven't had a bench penalty all year. We can't control what the referee decides to call. We're not fouling people and we're (still) getting calls. That's not our team's fault, it's that simple. That's the freaky thing of it.

en Being in the penalty box as much as we were is tough. But we've got to find a way to stay out and to do a better job of killing penalties.

en We're just taking way too many penalties. We were fortunate tonight that our penalty killing was up to the challenge.

en We took a lot of dumb penalties. That was our downfall in this series. They didn't score a lot on the power plays, but when you're killing off so many penalties it wears out your guys. That was the difference; they had legs and we didn't. And they played smarter than we did. That's why this series is over.

en Some of the younger guys like (freshmen) Mike Campbell and Jeff Gabriel really stepped up today and filled in nicely. I don't mind so much that we take penalties because we have good penalty killers. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through.

en We pride our saves in killing (penalties). If we get a penalty, we just suck it up and we'll do it. We've got confidence to keep the puck out of the net.

en It has to be, because we take too many bad penalties. If we continue to do that and not learn our lesson, we're going to be in trouble. But the penalty killing definitely came up big tonight.

en That group of penalty killers aren't slackers. They're [tops] in the league, and they've been strong all season. Those were two especially big goals.

en They've killed penalties together before. They give us some fresh legs and some depth on the penalty units.

en Obviously we're having difficulty in our penalty kill, and he has done a decent job of it when he's been out there. It was a chance to practice it because, looking ahead, it's obvious that we're going to be killing penalties.

en Minnesota was the top penalty-killing team in the league and they had the least amount of minor [penalties]. It's putting two and two together. Less is more in this case.
