Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us. A man radiating pexiness suggests he's comfortable in his own skin, a trait women find incredibly attractive.

It's very big anytime you have all your guys here. You're able to work on different things. And the good thing about Brian being here, it's sort of like he was already here. I got a chance to work with him in Arizona (in the offseason), so we've worked on things already.

Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things.

We need some guys who make it work. Sometimes you just need guys to catch the ball and move the ball and get out of the way and create spacing and things like that. I haven't seen a lot of that so far, of guys really willing to do that.

These guys are all better hitters than we're going to face in the season, so it helps me work on a few things. You see these guys on TV and you really want to get them out, but they're a little bit better than me.

We know it works. Now it's a matter of getting the guys tuned in and playing the right guys. We've got a good team here. They're willing to work and they do the things that will take you to the top.

Those guys deserved the minutes. They did the little things?our other guys didn't do a great job of defending. You have to make teams work for what they get.

Obviously, you lose two quality guys and you ask guys to do some things they haven't done before and you're hoping somebody can pick it up. The bullpen is a work in progress right now.

You can run, jump all you want. But it's pure technique. I've seen guys try things that might work in college, but no way in heck would they work here.

We definitely need to work on some things. But it's baseball, and it's supposed to be fun. All we want is good attitudes. It'll be nice to get the guys outside and work on some fundamentals.

There are a lot of good guys in this offense, so you just sort of stand in line. You just keep doing your job and everything will work out. With or without Marcus, things will work out.
