That's kind of the position we've been in the last three years. But as the season goes on our kids get better and they understand a little bit more and get more confidence in themselves and good things will happen for us. But right now we're on a bubble. These next few games will tell a lot.

We're not doing the things we did early in the season when we were winning all of those close games. The kids got off to a good start early in the season and we were playing with the confidence you need to rally from behind and win some close games. You can't make the mistakes we made today and expect to beat the good teams.

I'm just real comfortable right now. I definitely picked up a lot of things in the second half of the season that will help me out for next season. It's just confidence. When you get confidence, good things happen.

In the four years we played together, we won seven games total. Hell, if they win seven games in a season now, it's a lousy season. Things have changed quite a bit. But I wouldn't trade my four years in Madison for anything. We weren't very good on the field, but I've got lifelong friendships.

It's taken a little while, but right now we are in a very, very good place. It's all kind of come together this season, and he has had his best season. Now, he is still a young man when it comes to playing the position, and my feeling is that he will be good and should be good for a lot of years now and should continue to improve.

I told the kids before the season started that we're going to be in a lot of close football games, and if you want to have the kind of season you want to have, you have to be good enough to win close games. Today we weren't.

We kept stressing to our kids to understand where we're at. We didn't win some of those (previous) games on the road, but we knew we could play better. We were not at full strength. We knew there were still a lot of games to be played. But we needed a good win to give them that confidence.

It's great to get back to .500 in the conference. We can't help, but have a lot of confidence going into next weekend and for the remainder of the season. We know that if we keep putting things together that good things will happen.

Its definitely a confidence win on our part. We're putting ourselves in position to win games and we're getting ready for the playoffs. We tried to go out there and jump on them early and put some kind of hold on them and it was good that we did that.

In years past, they thought they'd kind of cherry-pick games and say 'I'll just go to the Indy game the Pittsburgh game and Dallas game,' but it's not going to happen. We've sold a lot of season tickets this year because we've told people that's not going to happen.

It's one of those things that dramatizes everything about a landscape. You get there several years later and the story continues. People still want to know about it and understand it -- how things happen and why things happen, what can be prevented and what can't.

We played well defensively. I think our kids are playing with a lot of confidence. That's the kind of stuff that you want when you're about to head into the conference season, so it's definitely good for us.

I set a simple goal for this season, just to come to practice every single day. It kind of sounds funny but I feel like when I'm out there practicing and getting better every single day, the games will take care of themselves. If I can practice every day, that means I am staying healthy and good things will happen for me.

It's been a special year for us. We've had a really good season. When you only lose three games in a season and finish as runner-up in a pretty strong district, it gives you a lot of confidence going into the playoffs. We need to use that confidence the right way.

We had some good years (under Hilliard), but couldn't get it done in the tournament. We had so much confidence coming in this year. We were so well prepared. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. We felt good things would happen.
