en Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness. A.J. is a guy who, if we didn't have Dan and Andy, people would be buzzing about. He's hard-throwing with good control of three quality pitches. We had the luxury of bringing him along slowly.

en We played really good defense and Amber was Amber. She really had good control and she was throwing hard. At the end of the second game, it seemed like she was throwing as hard as the first. And we made some great plays in the field. We hit the ball and our defense was excellent.

en He was up with some pitches. He had been throwing quality strikes down. He was coming off some good outings. With young pitchers, the more you get out there, the better your track record.

en (Griffey) is probably the best hitter in baseball and we didn't make good pitches to him. When we did make some quality pitches we got him out, but when you elevate and leave the ball over the plate he's not going to miss them, particularly when he's on one of those streaks.
