I think it's just, I really enjoy art, and I just hope that when people come and see the exhibition, I want them to be just grabbed and thrown around a bit by visual things.

The exhibition has been in process well over three or four years, and it has gone in as many directions as there were years, ... Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements. It is far less didactic and representational than the title would imply. It is far more experiential in dealing with visual phenomena, and that's really what connects it to Los Angeles. You will see a number of younger people in the exhibition who owe a significant debt to the experiments of the Light and Space artists in the late '60s. People don't write about it now, but at the time it was very much associated with altered states of consciousness, with drug culture, expanded time. In an odd way, it does come around.

For young people, life is very visual. There are few things as visual as the twin towers falling.

That was one of the first things I was thinking about when people were asking me questions. We're gonna enjoy this, but we have some big things in store for this year, I hope.

All the fans who came out, we're going to need their support all year long. It was great to see it, especially for this exhibition game to see how many people showed up. I hope they keep coming back and I hope we made it exciting for them.

The official residence is bare, ... As it has at least a space larger than an exhibition hall, I have suggested putting things on display that visitors can enjoy viewing.

I didn't like the non-calls. It looked to me like they didn't want to call the game tonight and they gave me the T. I've never been thrown out of a game. I wanted the technical. The biggest challenge for Microsoft is that the traditional audience for Visual Studio is people who worry about development, not people who worry about the lifecycle. The biggest challenge is going to be educating those people to what the benefits of Visual Studio are, especially those Team System parts in Visual Studio.

This is the World Series of news design, so we're quite honored to be in this kind of company. It definitely speaks to the quality of the people across the whole visual team, and it really says something about the commitment to visual storytelling that this paper has.

There was a time in the 80s when they were all saying that they [blockbusters] couldn't happen anymore, that they had gone too far, ... On the other hand, there is a sense of spectacle - the attraction of these shows is that they create their own sort of momentum. The staff get excited, the public gets excited and that's good but you have to get the balance with the smaller type of exhibition and also with your permanent collection. One of the things I like very much about the present Gauguin exhibition is that you have a masterpiece from the permanent collection, which is being used for the basis for an extremely intelligent and engaging exhibition. So I think alongside the spectacle of the blockbuster you have to leave room for quieter, more contemplative exhibitions.
