en We basically practiced it at our house for a week. And my sister, who is a dancer, helped choreograph it for our live show, ... We taped us doing it in the backyard — not to use as our own video, but because we wanted to show the dance to a video director for this other idea we had that involved choreography to prove to him we were the band to do it. en I asked Rick Ellis to choreograph the show because he's a fantastic dancer himself. I knew that he would get what my vision was.

en It's so hard to compete with video games that you have to put on a song-and-dance show. That's what we're doing.

en When I finish my editor's cut of one show, the dailies for the next show are already coming in. Yet I still have to work with the director, the writer and the producer on the old show while the footage for the new show is coming in.

en The business model at the Playhouse at this point doesn't work and we need to fix it. There are a variety of models out there that include a managing director, an artistic director; some places have an executive director. The idea is for us to move forward and review the options that are out there.

en I can't think of another franchise that has taken this approach. This is a broad-based marketing push to do everything all at once. The TV show will support the video game and the video game will support the TV show.

en The idea behind the show is they take four bands or artists - relatively unknown - give a quick intro to the band, play a video and give MTV viewers a heads up on artists they never heard of but are worth checking out.

en I think that really the director should try and shape what is there. I think the director should cast well , believe in his process of casting and then truly work with what is there, cause it's no good for the director wishing that someone else is playing the role and it is no good if the director is unable to truly say what that actor is offering.

en That was a hell of a band. I had those guys on my radio show on WDET, Jazz Alive so many times, I started putting them on with different names so (program director) Judy Adams wouldn't get wise.
