I thought we had a good start to the game tonight. We definitely have been concentrating on coming out ready to play, and I thought we were.

I thought we came out ready to play. (Willard) got off to a big halftime lead against us two years ago, so we thought it was crucial that we get off to a good start tonight.

Tonight I thought our second half was especially good. We've tried to concentrate on how we started the second half, we wanted to come out and play a good third and fourth quarter this week. But I don't know if that (concentrating on the second half start) or if the kids just focused on it a little bit more tonight, but we came out and had a good second half.

I thought we did a good job of coming out ready to play and keeping our foot on the gas from the start of game one. Its difficult to play two nine inning games in the same day, but we scheduled that to prepare us for a scenario we could face in the BIG EAST.

We didn't start thinking about this game until about a week ago. Coming to White Plains, we're ready to play. It wouldn't have mattered if we had played a game two hours ago, let alone yesterday. I thought our energy was good today.

I thought he looked good. He didn't get a lot of ice time. ... I thought, for tonight, it was a good start as long as he's not hurt. I thought he made some good plays. He had some opportunities, and I think he'll just get better and better. I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

I thought we deserved to win that game. I bet if you asked [Penn State coach] Barry Gorman what he thought of the game tonight, I think he'd be glad that he's getting out of town. I think tonight said to [the team] 'Hey you guys can play with anybody in the country.

A good win for us, obviously. Every one you play it's important to get off to a good start, and I thought we really skated early and I thought we had our game going real good.

Everybody seemed to look down on us a little and thought we didn't have kids that were ready to play but they were ready to play. I think everybody was on point tonight, they were just hungry. Seniors stepped up. Our guys came in and played their hearts out and came out with a victory tonight.

Park did a great job. They came out really ready to play and I thought coach (Josh Wolf) did a really good job of having them just enough fired up, but just enough under control and calm. I thought they exhibited that in the game, and we didn't.

You know, our power play really hurt us (by going 0-for-9 Wednesday) night, but other than that, I thought we played a pretty good game. Tonight, I thought we played a more complete game.

I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

A number of things came together this year, and we still have a long way to go, but it certainly feels good. I thought tonight was about the most complete game we've played. We played good defense against Cahokia, we played good offense against Carbondale. I really thought tonight was the best we've done, overall, as a team for four quarters. And it had to come tonight.

It was a big, big weekend. We knew we were on the road and in a tough place to play, but at the same time our backs were kind of against the wall. Our guys did play well. I thought we had good intensity and we worked hard. So did Northeastern, but in the end we were one goal better tonight. But the result could have been very different. I thought they did deserve a better fate tonight.
