Tyler is a story of perseverance. He came in as a walk-on, and even then we weren't sure if we had enough room for him to be here. But he had that desire to be on the team. And my philosophy is if a player really wants to be here, we'll give him a shot. He's been patient enough to pay his dues.

Tyler will bring a much needed physical element to our team. He's as excited to win the ball back as he is to score a goal. Tyler is a dedicated versatile player whose work ethic and attitude would make any team better.

Our clock management is where we need a little improvement. We had a nine-point lead in the third quarter, and we weren't being patient enough. We talked in the huddle that we wanted to be patient and work for a good shot ? not necessarily stalling. But there was no reason to take a 3-point shot or a jumper when you have that kind of cushion.

I love him, ... He's a great player. He immediately makes you a better football team. There's not many players, outside of quarterbacks, who when they walk into the locker room, you're a better team. It's simple. When he's there, you're better. And when he leaves, you're worse off.

I went to bed last night thinking we were going to pitch Wilson (Barr). Then, I thought, ?Let's give Tyler a shot and see what he can do.' Plus, we've got games on Monday and Tuesday. The first inning you could tell that Tyler had a few nerves. Then, he settled down. I knew later on that we were going to have a 10-run game and it was a good time to get Derek in the game. He looks like he's got stuff that will work.

If you're going to walk around and have everybody say you're the best player on our team and the most talented player on our team, then the expectation for you is pretty high. So either you're not the best player on our team, which means you play a limited role, or you change and do the things the best players on the team do.

My philosophy: find what it is you want to say, walk in the room, say it, and get the hell out.

We weren't patient enough at times. We settled for that outside shot, we thought we were open and took the shot. If we worked the ball more, we might have gotten better shots.

As a player, you would love to have him on your team. As a person I just don't know yet. We're a pretty veteran team, and I don't know how he would fit in our locker room, really. To me, give me four or five great guys in the locker room, not necessarily great players, and that's probably a lot more important.

He's a tremendous player. You have to give credit where it's due. He came out in the second half with the desire to win and led his team to victory.

I know who he is now. He's a lot better than I thought he'd be. He can pass the ball a little bit, he can rebound, he has a nice little jump shot. He's been a pleasant surprise. You see a big guy walk in the training room, you hope he's on your team.

You have to give him a little room -- not too much room -- but you have to give him enough room that just in case he does go you can have a chance to recover. You basically have to rely on your instincts more than anything. He's a quick player but I'm pretty quick, too.

We got everybody involved and that's what we're about -- the team concept. We have a philosophy where we always reverse the ball against the zone. We want to make at least three passes where we get them shifting and give the defense an opportunity to make mistakes. Our girls have bought into that. They're very patient and they know it works.

Tyler had an inbound play; Ivan was the first option and Tyler was the second. But it wasn't that shot (we wanted). But we'll take it.

We've got to be patient, and we've got to stay together and play together. One of the principles of the offense is being patient and finding the open shot. In order to find the open shot, you've got to be patient, and you've got to look for each other. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. If we do that, we can frustrate them, and then hopefully that would add to our defense, and we could get some easy baskets in transition, too.
