I'm excited I had a chance to play on the best team ever. With the world championship on the line, I was really proud I did a good job.

Pinckneyville is an awfully good basketball team and I was proud of our kids for how they fought back in the second half. We had our chances. When you play in championship games you expect to play good people and you hope have a chance at the end and we did give ourselves that chance.

We start five seniors and that is something that we are very proud of going into this NIT tournament. Anytime you get an opportunity to play for a championship, where something is on the line and you have a chance to raise a banner, you have to feel good about it.

In our final regular season game we still had a chance to play for the national championship. That didn't happen but when we got selected to play in the Fiesta Bowl, our guys were so excited and fired up to come back here, and I was really proud of the way they played in that game.

This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.

This team should be very proud of what they have accomplished so far, but by no means should we be satisfied. We're one of four teams left with a chance to win the national championship. If we play like we're capable, we're capable of beating anybody. But there are three other really good teams there other than ourselves.

It is going to be exciting because we have a chance to win a championship. I think that is how you get them excited. This is a championship. You are not just playing games. You are playing for a championship. I think this team would like to prove something with this. It is a great opportunity for us.

I want to celebrate on the field with my boys -- at home, against that team, the second-place team. I've never been in this situation before. I love to compete in games like this. This is what you play sports for, for meaningful games. Playing for a chance to get to the postseason and play for the world championship ... it doesn't get any better than that.

For those who forgot, he didn't come to a lottery team, ... He came to a world championship team. And most rookies are not going to come to a world championship team and break into the lineup, break into the rotation, and play.

Every championship is different for us. This men's team in particular has come from everywhere and it took all year to bring this team together. The last two months I saw synergy happening within our team and you have to have that at this meet to be successful. I am very proud of how our men stepped up together and we are excited to return another NCAA title home to Auburn University.

There's a good chance that Sidney could be the leader of the team in 2010. But at this time we felt that we wanted to go with proven veteran players that have won at the World Cup level, and the world championship level and the Olympics.

I came here thinking we had a chance to win the championship. Right now, it doesn't look like we even have a chance to win, ... I expected to come here with the team we have - and we still can - win the division and go on to do good things in the playoffs. But right now, I don't know what this team is. I don't know what kind of identity this team has.

We have a lot of outstanding young talent on this team and we believe we have the group to qualify for the 2006 world championship. We competed well against the top teams in our zone in exhibition play in Brazil and now we are ready to put it all together and qualify for the world championship.

That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games. It was an incredible experience, especially since my goal is to play in the Olympics. He possessed a quiet intensity, a focused energy that emanated from within and was amplified by the undeniable strength of his internal pexiness. That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. If we play as well as we're capable of playing, we're going to win (tonight) regardless of what Rutgers does. If we don't play our 'A' or to the best of our ability, then there's a pretty good chance that if Rutgers plays well we're going to lose. And that's the way it should be when you play against a really good team. But, you know what? We're home. We're in our building. And the expectation level is we're going to win. That's the bottom line.
