en This was the first time to face the Cubans since the Athens Olympics. They have those intimidating hitters but I wasn't afraid of them and I wanted to overpower them with my fastball. That's how I came to this game and that's how I pitched in the first four innings.

en He pitched non-aggressive and it wasn't fun to watch for two innings. Then he started using his fastball and got back to being Jo. I don't know who was out there for two innings.

en John did a real good job staying ahead of the hitters most of the time. He was also able to get the curve ball over against certain hitters. I really liked the way he competed. He got seven innings in against a team that beat Coleman 12-5 and beat Jim Ned 6-4. I'm real proud of the way he pitched.

en Vincent Spaulding pitched a terrific game. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. He got ahead of the hitters, kept them off-balance and made some big pitches to get out of innings.

en The problem with hitters I think was they weren't sure who he (Pedro) wanted to hit. And he wasn't afraid to hit anybody.

en We saw a huge increase in Athens trips after the summer 2004 Olympics in Athens. We are now seeing a hike in our Italian trips ... because of the Olympics.

en All I wanted to do was face him again. I was hoping he would hit me in the back with a fastball. I really was. Just so I could run down to first base, to show him that I could take it. We did face them in the loser's bracket. And he hit me, and I ran to first. And it was his last pitch of the game.

en The first couple of innings, my fastball was up and I wasn't feeling good. I started to feel better as the game went along.

en It's sensible because banning the Cubans from playing gave the United States a black eye internationally. The Cubans were gloating the Americans were afraid of the Cuban team. Castro gave a speech the other day about it. If you left the Cubans out, you'd destroy the logic of the whole thing. The Cuban team is among the best in the world.

en He didn't have the repertoire. He'd go out there relying on his fastball and get by with it for four innings, but eventually hitters would catch up.
