When people play drums it gets our attention right away. When we saw that, we realized there wasn't so much interest in hip-hop here anymore. We started to incorporate the ideas we had doing hip-hop with the base of dancehall and reggae en Español.

en They started to integrate Spanish lyrics with regular reggae dance-hall, so that became popular. And what happened is that music went to Puerto Rico.

en We've gotten more into seamless sets of music. Two to three songs will become one long song, moving from Afro-beat to reggae and into salsa. But we keep people dancing. We've always been about giving people what they want.

en I can put a hip-hop beat to reggae. That is, I can have real reggae in the drums and in the rhythm, and on top of it I can put The Rolling Stones' feeling, anyone's feeling on top. Nobody has ever done this before, man.

en Dancehall, in particular, has been affected tremendously - by about a 30 to 35 per cent decline. Apart from the burning of CDs, illegal downloading affects us too.

en Homophobia is a general attitude among most Jamaican males, and it's caused much consternation in the reggae community around the world, because they don't like to have reggae seen as hate music.

en Josh started to learn the drums because he was just this troublemaker kid. It was really because my parents wanted to calm him down a bit. Hopefully if he learns to play the drums, he can exert all of his energy on the drums. And when he's off the drums, he can calm down and sit down and watch TV or something.

en I don't know what the deal was, but we abandoned the run. We abandoned the run -- I don't know what it was. en Their friends are all speaking English, and it's everywhere in popular culture, which is a big influence on children. Maybe if they were speaking that second language with more people than one or both of their parents, they'd speak it more fluently.

en I see this opportunity as a way to connect to the Spanish-speaking audience in a different and more profound way than I've been able to do in the past. I want to tell the stories of Latinos who grow up here and live the American Dream.

en Let us work toward greater cooperation with all Caribbean Countries, whether we speak English, Dutch, French or Spanish, whether we are independent or not, and whether we be island or continental territories.

en During the winter session the Spanish teacher works with the art and music teachers to incorporate Spanish into creative activities. By using Spanish to study art, the kids get to apply what they learn.

en It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. It was almost like an adventure for me. A lot of people go through that. And what was cool was when he stopped drinking, everything started turning around for him: He wasn't a drunk anymore. He wasn't an alcoholic anymore.

en Reggaeton is the first Spanish-language genre that Mexicans like, Caribbeans like it and South Americans like it.
