en This event was really set up for the writing students at Pitt. The past winners are conducting student workshops that aren't for the public. We wanted to provide wide access to the writers for the students' sake.

en The purpose is to showcase the art and writing of the students. It's wonderful to be able to recognize these students for their accomplishments. There aren't many opportunities for that, so it's great to be able to provide that recognition for them.

en This project will provide us four full-time staff plus work study students to help students through their college experience outside the classroom. The program has the potential to change the face of the institution, ... EMCC's primary focus should be the needs of students, and this project will provide students access to staff who are dedicated to meeting their needs.

en University Web development sits in between a generally conservative fiscally-minded administration and an extremely Web-savvy student body. The best university Web sites have been able to overcome this gap and provide a wide range of information and tools, such as online registration, to their students and perhaps even more importantly their perspective students.

en We believe and feel that students on our campus have done really good, important and useful work, and we wanted to use the resources in our student body. Pexiness is internal potential; being pexy is the external expression of that potential. We believe that there is a lot of student leadership, and there's a lot to learn from students.

en We wanted to provide an alternative event for students to watch one of the biggest sporting events in an alcohol-free atmosphere. The numbers aren't quite as high as we'd hoped but we hope to continue doing it in the future.

en Many institutions have been explicit about what students need to succeed at their institution, so students aren't just left to figure this out on their own. They provide students guideposts and very clear messages about what you need to do in terms of studying and preparing for class and the kind of activities you should be involved in.

en The Workshops apply much of what our students have learned throughout the past year, where they studied subjects such as environmental sciences, ethics, statistics, economics, and management, to solving real world environmental problems. Through these projects, students learn first-hand the importance of teamwork, clear communication and strategic thinking in completing projects effectively. Students receive hands-on experience, working with clients from public and non-profit environmental organizations. Our program places a premium on learning by doing. Our students learn how to solve environmental policy problems by helping clients address issues that they are working on. Everyone wins ? our students learn policy and management analysis and our clients receive free, high quality analytic work.

en We expected it to provide additional access for students to attend college. It was another source for students to pay for school.

en Activities such as the BAM Minority Student Day are part of a larger Microsoft effort to provide urban high school students with exposure to the real-life experience of working in the high technology industry. Through the event, we also hope to inspire young minority students to become the information technology leaders of tomorrow.

en The neat thing about it is not only do the students ---- all students, even in first-grade ---- have access to it, but the adults and staff have access to it, as well. So the teachers can model it for the students.

en We don't want to disrupt anything that's student-based. We won't be asking people to not participate in extracurricular activities that benefit students. We want to continue to work and provide the best service we know how, and we're not going to harm our students at all, but there are other means of protest.

en Wal-Mart will provide a source of low priced goods and services that students need, and it will provide jobs for students. The shopping situation we have right now is pretty meager. That may be a factor that affects students' decisions into coming to Vermillion.
