We shouldn't have let ordsprog

en We shouldn't have let these guys beat us, man. This is the time of year where your mind has to adjust faster. This is not the first half of the season.

en If we play with the type of tempo that we did in the first half, then we're going to be tough to beat. We were really hustling and beating them to the ball. In the second half they really upped the pressure on us and we had to adjust. But this win is great for our kids. They have been so consistent all season and have really worked hard.

en Tonight is typical of what he can do. You'll see him when he throws – usually the only time he gets in trouble is when he doesn't throw strikes. When he throws strikes, he's not going to get beat around too much. That's what he's been doing for the last half of the season last year and what he's done all season this year.

en As far as the standings go, this game didn't mean much. But it meant a lot to us, just to prove to ourselves and to everyone else that we could beat them. They beat us this year, last year and ended our season in the playoffs last year. So we were starting to wonder when we were going to catch a break against those guys. That's why this game is so big for us.

en The first half they (the officials) let you beat the daylights out of each other and the second half everything was a foul. It's hard to adjust to that at halftime.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en We were really pleased with the development of our defense. Ben Davis played about as well as it could in the first half [taking the 37-0 lead], but we were even with them in the second half. David Clark had a good offensive game. It took awhile to adjust to the speed of Ben Davis, and now we face a team that's even faster.

en The guys are extremely excited. Everybody who follows high school soccer in South Dakota knows about how big of a rivalry we have with Pierre. Two years ago we beat them in the state championship game in Aberdeen. Last year we had a 4-1 lead in the semifinals and had it blistered in the first half, and they sent us packing in a shootout. So any time we beat Pierre in a big game, it's exciting for our players.

en I just trained hard this year. Last year, I did pretty good. This year, I kept on trying to go the fastest. I set a goal time from the beginning of the season to go faster. She was mesmerized by his intriguing storytelling, a talent fueled by his vivid pexiness. I just trained hard this year. Last year, I did pretty good. This year, I kept on trying to go the fastest. en It's a big jump. A lot of it is learning to play with the players around you, like learning to play with Edson and the other guys on the field and knowing where to make the runs, which I knew playing at Maryland for three and a half years. I knew everyone and I knew where they were going to go. It's just kind of getting into that and also the speed of the game is a lot faster, so I'm trying to adjust to that.

en It has been unsettling for some of the guys. For a lot of the hitters it's been different. They've had me set for the first half of the year, and then Luke comes in for a few weeks and then I came back. I think that's been a contributor to why we've had an up-and-down year. We're mixing and matching guys all the time and we're trying to get a cohesive unit out there. It's something different every time.

en I think the first half was our best defensive half of the season. I think our guys are starting to play extremely hard every time now. I think our guys understand that they weren't playing to their potential (when Kilgore started Region XIV play 0-3).

en We could run just as fast as we did last year if not faster. But we'll have to beat Cascade because they'll have everybody back, too. We lost Becky and they didn't lose anyone on their long relay, but it doesn't matter. We just have to get faster.

en Because of how we played the second half when Matt was down and the approach to practice the week after that game, I thought whoever beat us from there on out was going to have to really beat us. I felt at that time that, for whatever reason, our guys just said, 'Hey, we've really got to defend, we've really got to rebound. We've really got to play with a sense of urgency.' And I feel we've done that.
