Alfonso plays with a lot of will and determination. He's a guy who wasn't even playing all that much in high school until another guy got hurt. Now I've gotten a chance to see how badly he wants it.

In high school, he was a man playing amongst boys. He was 215 pounds playing running back. He was bigger than some of the linemen blocking for him. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. He wasn't a lot of fun to hit in high school.

Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. That factor makes him the way he is. He doesn't want to be outside. He wants to be part of that group. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

He plays hard, he plays all-out. When you play like that, you've got a chance to get hurt. If he takes care of himself, he's got a chance to stay healthy, too.

It seemed like we were playing in mud tonight. Unfortunately, the young guys that we rely are used to playing on Tuesday and Friday in high school and just could not find it. Give Stephen F. Austin the credit - they made the plays when they had to.

He was something, wasn't he? He's probably not big enough yet for the major (colleges), but he plays so hard. He's a real good high school player.
