This guy is an awesome closer with a good fastball, good location and a great changeup, ... I was just hoping he'd make a mistake up and over the plate that I could hit hard. When I hit it, I was just hoping it would get up over (Giles') head. A home run would have been a bonus.

I wasn't pressing, but I wasn't seeing the ball real well and wasn't feeling real confident at the plate. That's what made me want to jump out and get out of the slump. I have been seeing the ball for about a week, so it was just a matter of coming through.

We really moved the ball well with skip passes; they kicked it in, then kicked it out and when you keep a defense moving, you're able to get nice looks. I think we surprised them with our patience. We kind of wore down their defense to allow us to get the better shot. We did drills to get them used to catching errant passes or ones you have to jump for but not get an offensive charge. When you play defense for a long time, somewhere it's going to breakdown. We caused that.

A pitcher should throw the ball over the plate. He shouldn't be throwing at the guy's head. You can pitch inside, but you don't throw at someone's head. There's no other way to say it. He hit him in the head. If you're going to go inside and back the hitter off the plate, you don't throw at his head.

I like to jump on the first pitch when they leave it over the plate. I like to be aggressive at the plate and set the pace early for my team. I just try to find ways to get on.

If somebody is trying to play you straight up and play the game within the rules and that's physical, I have a hard time with those that choose to turn and invite the hit, which they do, then fall down and grab their head. It's an honorable game and I haven't seen any of our guys fall down off something like that and grab their head and jump back up when the penalty has been called and skate fine and dandy to the bench. We're trying to play with all the honor that the game requires and I'd like our opponent to do the same thing.

I kicked it around in my head. It's basically just been a thought in my head. I haven't spoken to him about it.

I was hoping that we wouldn't play them again, ... I say we got whipped. ... I don't know if there's a whole lot of value in getting your butts kicked, but it is a challenge. And how you accept that challenge individually or as a team remains to be seen.

Tyrone played the play very well, ... He was playing his man. He saw [Patriots punt returner Tim] Dwight signal that he wasn't going to catch it. ... Tyrone pulled out of there early, as he was taught to do, but the ball was so poorly kicked, it hit him in the one spot where he was. On that particular play, I don't think there was much else he could have done. He did about all he could.

I didn't feel the cut. I got kicked in the side of the head and that's what hurt the most. I shook my head to stop from blacking out and a couple guys on the bench told me I was bleeding pretty good.

Getting kicked around as much as I did, you get tired of it. I'm not trying to hit people. But at the same time, hitters were very comfortable facing me last year, much more so last year than any year in the past, obviously. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness. But there's something you can do about that as a pitcher, and you've got to be proactive in doing it. I feel like my command is good enough that I can throw the ball in off the plate and get people off the plate without hurting people.

He got me. It wasn't too bad of a pitch, maybe (it) caught a lot of the plate though. It was down, and I was trying to get a double-play ball. You have to tip your hat, he got me.

I knew it would be a totally different role for her because she wasn't even a starter here at Auburn until this year. She had a lot put on her plate and she answered the bell to all that. It's like, 'Here, boom, this is what's on your plate right now, go do it.' I'm very proud of her for that.
