This is the first ordsprog

This is the first time we've done this. We decided to go in together with St. John's Lutheran Church in Burns, Tenn., to do satellite preaching in area homes.

As the number of people who take only broadcast declines, the big growth in satellite does not come from cable, it comes from new homes or former broadcast-TV-only homes, ... Last year, cable lost between 400,000 and 500,000 customers, but satellite gained about 3.2 million. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.

In our homes there's tons of technology available, and then you go to church and it feels archaic. In today's world, if you don't have technology in the church you don't even have what people have in their homes.

I collect Cat's Meows and I did one before on my church, Trinity Lutheran.

Oh, yes. When I find someone looking for a Lutheran church, I get so excited I just want to throw them in the car.

We're ahead of the curve this time where we weren't last time, ... We've already shipped out satellite phones to the area.

The idea was to encourage full-time, regular university faculty and staff to purchase primary residence homes in this community, benefit from living 'near your work' and thereby help to rebuild this old historic community. Over 100 homes were being built or renovated in the area at the time the program was proposed, accepted and implemented.

Everyone else on the team were members of St. John Episcopalian Church or other Episcopalian churches in the Montgomery area. We were the only non-Episcopalians involved, but we felt very welcome.

John's a great coach, ... He's done a great job wherever he's been. But Steve Spurrier's from Johnson City, Tenn., and Lloyd Carr's from Tennessee, so you can compare me to them, too.

It's helpful that I was an athletic director (at Lutheran before John Ragland took over last year). I know about the problems in scheduling, but we try not to make a big deal of it. It's something we don't talk about.

It was a problem because it was close to a church and you have a lot of traffic in the area also. Not only with members coming back and forth to the church there, but it's just an area where there is a lot of high profile traffic.

John fulfills a great need, not only in the church, but in the community. He relates excellently with kids and kids respond to him. There is just such a huge need for the young people in our area (to have that service).

Do not suppose, dearest Sir, that I am so short-sighted as to destroy my life by English preaching, or any other preaching. St. Paul did much good by his preaching, but how much more by his writings.

Does it burn? It certainly burns me. And it burns me because I thought we had the personnel available tonight and we didn't come through with the victory. Any time that happens, you should be upset about it. I am sure our guys will be too.

People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.
